Timeform View

POWERACCLAIM got back on track without the headgear at the Curragh and should be suited by this return to 7f, so he is selected to open his account. Irish Rumour can have her Leopardstown run excused after being forced wide and, as a previous course winner back down in trip, rates the main danger. Thurso made an encouraging start for his current yard last time and remains on a handy mark.

Timeform Comments

Thurso
Successful at Bath on final start for Richard Hughes prior to running to a similar level when fourth in a big-field handicap at Navan (5f) on stable debut latest. Remains on a good mark and not without claims if stepping up on that effort now.
Phoenix Pairc (IRE)
Won a maiden at Dundalk in 2025. Poor efforts in handicaps since, though, including at Leopardstown on return from 6 months off. Raced freely on that occasion and now reverts to sprinting. Something to find.
Poweracclaim (IRE)
Arrives in better heart than recent form figures suggest, shaping with encouragement when 5¼ lengths fourth of 20 to Sommelier at Curragh. Further drop of a pound certainly no issue and bold bid anticipated.
In The Gloaming (IRE)
Best effort in maidens when 4 lengths fifth of 13 to Xerling in 5f event at Cork last time. Slight step back up in trip will suit and he's open to improvement now tackling a handicap with a first-time tongue strap applied.
Aurora Nova (IRE)
A 3-time winner in the first half of 2025 and ran well when third at Bellewstown in April. Well treated on current mark but very little encouragement to be gleaned from last month's effort over C&D that saw her finish last of 9.
Are You In Or Out (IRE)
Enhanced her good record fresh when making a winning stable debut at Fairyhouse on return in May. Hasn't gone on from that performance, though, and needs to bounce back.
Gotta Catch'em All (IRE)
Long-standing maiden who went close on 4 separate occasions over 1¼m-1½m last year but has yet to really fire this time around. The handicapper has slowly relented, though, and he now finds himself on his lowest mark for 10 months. First-time blinkers may help, but the drop in trip is a concern.
Irish Rumour (IRE)
On long losing run but ran well when second of 20 in handicap at the Curragh (6.3f, good) in June, the well-treated winner already gone by the time she hit full stride. Effort best excused at Leopardstown last time and remains on a handy mark based on the pick of her 2025 efforts.
Coincidental Glory (IRE)
Dundalk nursery winner in December who has been in-and-out since, running creditably without suggesting he was ready to capitalise on a slipping mark when 3¼ lengths third of 6 to Zenford at Limerick last time.
Reinforce (IRE)
One-time fairly useful sprinter who hasn't shown any form of note since the summer of 2024. Handicapper has given him a chance but massive leap of faith required.
Elly Bay (IRE)
Fair juvenile maiden for Johnny Murtagh. Got right back on track after a very low-key start to the season when second of 13 to Fortuity in 7f handicap at Fairyhouse in May, but failed to build on that in first-time cheekpieces at same track 10 days ago.
Verified (IRE)
Long-standing maiden handicapper who bounced back to form when 1¾ lengths second of 8 to Nouvel Espoir at Down Royal, helped by being held up in strongly-run race. Remains well treated on pick of his efforts but consistency has never been a strong suit.
Prime Sign (IRE)
Smooth winner on handicap debut at the Curragh last summer but hasn't built on that since and has been well held on both outings this year.
The Cosy Corner (IRE)
Well beaten all 3 starts in maidens. Makes handicap debut from 2 lb out of the weights for new stable.
Dubai Opulence (IRE)
Well held in trio of maidens and a handicap. Races from 5 lb out of the weights.
Step Back In Time (IRE)
Ground-versatile sort who has won 4 times at this course but is struggling for form this year. Races from 5 lb out of the handicap.
