Timeform View

GO TO TOWN left the impression he should have made more of an impact at Clonmel on his previous start and, with the step back up in trip likely to suit, he is worth siding with to make it third time lucky for his current yard. Lilac Lady has a bit to find on the figures but is the sole confirmed front-runner in the field and could get an easy time of things at the head of affairs, while hat-trick seeker Larkins Lane cannot be totally dismissed despite her latest rise making life harder.

Timeform Comments

Go To Town (IRE)
Stepped up on stable debut and looked unlucky not to finish closer when 3½ lengths fourth of 15 to Getaway Henry in extended 2m handicap at Clonmel last month, not clear run home turn before staying on again after 2 out. Should stay 2½m and capable of better still. Big chance.
Cherry Red (IRE)
Made successful stable debut when winning 2¼m mares maiden hurdle at this course last time, beating Clash Gold by 4 lengths. Not sure to build on that, though, and significantly more needed now tackling a handicap.
Lilac Lady (IRE)
Front-running maiden who has finished in the frame at this course on her last 3 starts, 6¼ lengths fourth of 16 to Let's Go La Fichad in maiden on latest. Needs to step up back in maiden company but could get an easy lead.
Papagei
Fairly useful handicapper on Flat. Has yet to better modest form in 3 completed starts over hurdles, though, and needs to improve significantly on those efforts if he's to feature on handicap hurdle debut.
Poppycon (IRE)
Step back in right direction in first-time tongue strap when fourth of 18 to Le Fanu in handicap at Listowel last time. Cheekpieces now applied and place claims if building on that previous effort.
Fine Print (IRE)
Fair winner at 17f on Flat. Hasn't got anywhere near that level over hurdles to date but shaped with a bit more encouragement when 21¾ lengths fourth of 14 to Topothelane at Wexford in May. Cheekpieces back on.
Poetic Focus (IRE)
Modest maiden hurdler, who stepped up on stable debut and settled better when 12½ lengths fifth of 15 to Clever Court at Bellewstown last time. This looks too competitive.
Saint Peregrine (IRE)
Winless in 16 starts. Probably needed run when well held here on return but worth noting his 2 standout hurdling efforts have both come at this track. Worth a market check.
Larkins Lane (IRE)
Seen to maximum effect when winning handicaps at Limerick and over C&D last 2 starts, beating Brave Josee by 2¾ lengths here on latest. Further 7 lb rise makes life tougher, though.
Frontier Rose
Maiden who has made very little impact in handicaps on last 2 starts. Plenty to find.
Tellmemamema (IRE)
Has made a bit more impact in handicaps on last 2 starts, finishing fourth at Down Royal and 18¾ lengths fifth of 18 to Le Fanu at Listowel, but will need to improve markedly on those efforts if she's to get off the mark here.
Dream Shaper (IRE)
Still winless following 26 attempts overall. Outpaced over inadequate trip at Limerick in March and will benefit from the return to this more intermediate trip. Tongue strap back on.
Mr Erwitt (IRE)
Well held in maidens and pulled up both starts in handicaps. Hard to fancy.
Finnicky Filly (IRE)
In better heart than recent form figures suggest and reverts to hurdling off last winning mark but tends to be a hostage to fortune given the patient tactics that are usually employed.
Sekifi (IRE)
Ran one of better efforts when 10¼ lengths fifth of 14 to Blue Reed at Kilbeggan last time. Tongue strap back on.
Mother Ship (IRE)
Maiden hurdler who was placed twice in handicaps last season, including when an unlucky third in this race, but has been below form on both outings this season. RESERVE.
Ladiam (IRE)
Off 6 months before posting a respectable fifth of 16 in handicap hurdle at this course on return, Went backwards from that effort at Ballinrobe last time but he tends to go well at this track. RESERVE.
Cornaroya Rocco (IRE)
Modest maiden. 20/1, respectable fourth of 14 in maiden at Kilbeggan (2m, good) in May. Pulled up on handicap debut last time. RESERVE.
