STATUARIO boasts an exceptional Perth record and is fancied to add an eighth course success to his name back down slightly in grade. Grand Clermont is in even better heart than his recent form suggests and is of plenty of interest off this mark, having been caught further back than ideal at Uttoxeter a fortnight ago, while Parisencore has 2 course wins here and could figure if lasting out the longer trip.

Has a fine record at Perth with 7 wins here (5 over C&D). Looked near the top of his game when creditable fourth of 10 in a higher grade than this here 5 days ago and looks sure to go well once more.
Parisencore (FR)
Won at Newcastle over 2½m in April and ran creditably on the back of a breathing operation when second of 7 at Hexham 21 days ago. Faces a significant step up in trip today but has 2 course wins here and can run well if lasting out.
Bleu D'enfer (FR)
Patchy record since joining this yard but avoided mistakes for once when second of 9 in handicap chase at Aintree in May under patient tactics. Not certain to back that up given overall profile and is also unproven over this far.
Grand Clermont (FR)
Not long with this yard but already won at Uttoxeter in May then second at Worcester last month. Also shaped better than the result when fourth of 13 in a handicap chase at former track 14 days ago, caught further back than ideal, and holds leading claims.
Walk On Quest (IRE)
Landed the odds at Kelso in May but that was only a 3-runner affair and he added to a patchy record when only eighth of 10 over C&D 35 days ago in a much bigger field after being raised 3 lb. May prove vulnerable once more.
Wasdell Dundalk (FR)
Plenty of good runs at this course (4-timer winner) and he looked back in reasonable form when second of 6 here 10 days ago. Plenty more required up in trip and grade here, though.
Inis Oirr (IRE)
Won over C&D in April and followed up with back-to-back seconds here since, finishing runner-up in a field of 6 35 days ago on latest start. This is a much deeper race, though, and he's not entirely straightforward so this level may prove beyond him nowadays.
