Timeform View

SECRET TRIX can gain a deserved success following a consistent run of form, enhancing Olly Murphy's fine strike rate at this track in the process. Recent C&D winner Dalileo should do better than when bidding for a double in this race last year, and he looks the main danger with Brian Hughes taking over.

Timeform Comments

Ballintubber Boy (IRE)
Runner-up in a couple of small-field hurdles around Hereford/Exeter last autumn. Easy to back/didn't see out his race at Worcester (23f) latest. Now drops in grade with usual tongue strap back on. Should at least be competitive, provided his jumping holds up again.
Secret Trix
Hasn't won for 2 years but arrives in good heart. Chased home couple of progressive sorts at Haydock in April. Only beaten by a consistent sort when bidding for third C&D success in solid handicap at Uttoxeter last time. Fancied to snap his losing streak for yard with fine strike rate at this track.
Speed Davis (FR)
Beat a progressive one when successful at Musselburgh last November and produced a career best to follow up at Bangor (23f) in mid-April. Well beaten (easy to back) off this mark on hat-trick bid at Worcester subsequently.
Spit Spot
Completed C&D double in a 0-110 handicap last autumn. Latest run here in April and subsequent efforts on Flat hardly inspire confidence of a bounce back.
Lowlands (IRE)
Placed all 3 starts in handicap hurdles, either side of opening her account in a 2½m course maiden in May. Latest second at Cartmel (22f) was another improved effort (seems best ridden positively), and she could take another step forward for the slightly longer trip.
Ebselysees
Revitalised by switch of stables when winning back-to-back staying handicaps here in April/May. Probably remains in better heart than her hat-trick bid at Hexham would suggest. Cheekpieces go back on (previously responded well to headgear), though may again face competitive for the lead.
Dalileo (IRE)
Veteran confirmed promise of previous run here when recording a third C&D success last time, winning the race in far more emphatic fashion than in 2025. Fancied to make a bold bid for the double this time around (well-held third in this race 12 months ago), with the booking of Brian Hughes a plus.
