MUSKERRY ROCK has gone close in 2 handicap hurdles since joining Dan Skelton and can open his account back over fences. Slaney Opera can chase the selection home ahead of Presentandcounting.

Timeform Comments

Presentandcounting (IRE)
Useful chaser at best who took advantage of a slipping mark at Uttoxeter (2½m) last summer. Has proven he retains some ability in small-field events on his last 2 starts, though was readily outpaced by a couple of younger rivals at Bangor (2½m, good) 17 days ago. Back up in trip.
Muskerry Rock (IRE)
Dual point winner who caused a minor surprise when winning 8-runner hunter at Wexford (23f) in May. Joined the powerful Skelton yard (£17,000) a fortnight later and did very little wrong when narrowly denied in 2 handicap hurdles since. Blinkers back on for return to chasing.
Belgarum (IRE)
Ended 2025 badly out of sorts but a breathing operation and drop in trip worked the oracle as he scored at Fontwell on return in May prior to going close in 3-runner race over 3¼m here next time. Perhaps unsurprisingly failed to extend that run of good form kept to that trip here last time, though.
Balkardy (FR)
Completely lost his form after winning over 2½m at Ffos Las this time last June and little impact on either hurdles start this summer.
Slaney Opera (IRE)
Low-mileage 8-y-o who scored at Sedgefield in January for Ruth Jefferson. Ran respectably enough when fifth of 9 in handicap chase at Bangor (3m, good) 17 days ago and he can give another good account.
