STRAIGHT UP has an excellent chance at the weights and may resume winning ways. Likely improver Res Ipsa is feared most ahead of Loughrea, who is going the right way from the doubly represented Andrew Slattery yard.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Loughrea could be expected to race prominently. Of those in the front half of the betting forecast, Res Ipsa might be well positioned in a slowly run affair.

Timeform Comments

Bold Style
Useful at his best for Charlie Appleby (presumably had his issues). Step back in the right direction when beaten just over 3 lengths on final start for B. Seemar at Meydan in January. Since picked up for £64,000 by a good yard (also saddles Loughrea). Market should guide on return from 6 months off.
Loughrea (IRE)
Improving sort who got off the mark at the third time of asking in a 1m Curragh maiden. That performance can be marked up given he raced close to a strong pace (all out to hold on). Another step forward could see him firmly in the mix.
Res Ipsa
Frankel colt from family yard has had success with. Gone the right way since enduring a luckless passage when well-backed on debut. Pulled clear of another improver when close second at Killarney before going one better with ease at Limerick (1m). May well have a bigger performance in him.
Straight Up (IRE)
Impressive winner on debut at Listowel (7f) last September and wasn't beaten far in slowly-run Group 3 Autumn Stakes subsequently. Not the easiest to assess on 2 starts this season (flying too high in Derby Trial latest), but he's very well treated by the conditions of this race.
Mai Dahlia (IRE)
Well-bred daughter of Too Darn Hot who improved when landing the odds readily at Naas (1m) on her third career start. Has more on at the weights here, but she's hard to discount now up and running for excellent yard.
