Timeform View

WILBUR still looked in need of experience when third at Catterick last month but with his debut promise still fresh in the memory, Harry Eustace's colt gets the nod to make it third time lucky. Parvenue Star showed promise on debut so she could be the one to give the selection most to think about, while Costa Verde and Waakabb both seemingly newcomers worth noting representing powerful connections.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Minzaal Time could be expected to race prominently. Of those in the front half of the betting forecast, Parvenue Star might be well positioned in a slowly run affair: Of the better-fancied horses, Waakabb is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.

Timeform Comments

Charlemont Gg (USA)
Foaled March 8. $100,000 yearling, 130,000 gns 2-y-o, Charlatan colt. Half-brother to 2 winners, including winner up to 11f Sun Never Sets. Has to be a slight concern he's sporting a hood first time up.
Hey Dude (IRE)
Showcasing colt who showed nothing when last of 11 in novice at Windsor (6f, firm) on debut just over 2 weeks ago. Immediately upped in trip.
High Calibre
Without Parole colt who took a small step forward from his debut when sixth of 7 in novice at Ffos Las (6f, good to firm) just over a fortnight ago.
La Fuerza (IRE)
Churchill colt who showed a bit more than on debut when third of 6 in novice at Pontefract (6f, good) just over 3 weeks ago, probably paying a little for trying to go with the odds-on favourite. Another step forward needed.
Minzaal Time (IRE)
Clearly still learning based on both efforts in recent weeks. Looks one for low-grade nurseries after this.
Royal Titan (USA)
Son of Bolt D'Oro who proved far too free when last of 9 in novice at Lingfield (7f) last week.
Waakabb
Foaled May 17. 55,000 gns yearling, €175,000 2-y-o, New Bay colt. Dam, ran twice, closely related to 1m winner Moohaarib and 1m/8.5f winner Argentello (both smart). Of interest on debut given connections. Yard's record this season with 2-y-o debutants 3 from 7 at time of writing.
Wilbur
Kingman colt who was still in need of experience and not seen to best effect when third of 5 in maiden at Catterick (7f, good to soft) last month. His debut fourth at Newbury sets the standard and could prove a tough nut to crack.
Best Yet
Foaled April 12. Study of Man filly. Sister to 7f winner Beta Reader and half-sister to several winners, including useful 1m-1¼m winner Big Meeting and 6f winner Ex Gratia. Yard's record this season with 2-y-o debutants 2 from 30 at time of writing.
Costa Verde (IRE)
Foaled February 18. 525,000 gns yearling, Starman filly. Dam twice-raced half-sister to very smart winner up to 11f Royal Champion out of smart 10.3f-1½m winner Emirates Queen. Makes plenty paper appeal. Yard's record this season with 2-y-o debutants 3 from 14 at time of writing.
Martinet (IRE)
Foaled May 7. Frankel filly. Dam, winner up to 1½m (2-y-o 8.3f-1¼m winner) who stayed 14.5f (won Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and Prix Jean Romanet), half-sister to very smart winner up to 1¼m (stayed 14.6f) Midas Touch. Yard not renowned success with 2-y-o debutants.
Parvenue Star (IRE)
Starman filly who showed promise when seventh of 13 in novice at Newbury (6f, firm) on debut 12 days ago, putting in late work from out the back. Should do better with that initial effort under her belt.
