Timeform View

This looks to revolve around CLASSY CLARETS, who bolted up under a penalty at Catterick last week and Iain Jardine's free-going front-runner races from his revised lower mark here. Victory Sound and Cooramook round off the shortlist.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Classy Clarets traded at a high of 3.90 and Betfair SP of 6.20 when winning last time, a race in which it led.

Timeform Comments

Macedonian (IRE)
Little encouragement to glean from his 3 efforts this season and hopes are pinned on first-time cheekpieces changing his fortunes.
Cooramook (IRE)
Exposed maiden who is consistent on the whole and ran well when second of 9 over C&D just over 2 weeks ago. Each-way possibilities again.
Classy Clarets (IRE)
Headstrong sort who notched a fourth win of the year in 9-runner event at Catterick (7f) last week, typically keen but much too good. Gets to race from 2 lb lower here so expected to take some stopping.
Court Of Session
Capitalised on a falling mark in 9-runner event at Nottingham (6f) last month. Down the field at Yarmouth on both subsequent outings so needs to bounce back returned to 7f/all-weather.
Tomarlo
Has made a good start for current yard and got off the mark for these connections at the third time of asking in 9-runner event at this course (6f) last week, scoring with more in hand than the bare margin suggested. Carries a 5-lb penalty here but should go well again. NON RUNNER.
Makes Me Wonder
Sole success came at Yarmouth last spring and held his form well on the whole thereafter. Returns from 9 months off and the betting should be a decent indicator as to how ready to roll he is.
Beaming Light
On a lengthy losing run and seems to just be in a lull for now. Best watched until showing more positive signs.
Whitesnake
Hinted at ability in maidens and failed to improve on handicap debut when third of 7 at Chepstow (6f, good) last month. This step up in trip could allow her to show more.
Homme De Fer
Won twice during the winter, including over C&D and held form well when third on her first 4 starts this year. Typically gave running when fifth of 9 over C&D in May and has been freshened up since. First-time tongue tie goes on.
Dayman (GER)
7-y-o who extended an already lengthy losing run tried in blinkers when well-held eleventh of 12 at Chepstow (6f) in May. Others far more appealing.
Victory Sound (IRE)
Hasn't won since his second start back in June 2024 (for Charlie Hills) but confirmed return to form when third of 7 at Ffos Las (7.4f, good to firm) just over 2 weeks ago. Remains to be seen how long he stays in this sort of mood.
