Timeform View

SO GRATEFUL's recent Ayr fourth was a definite step back in the right direction so back down at the minimum trip, Mick & David Easterby's 8-y-o can cash in on his much-reduced mark. Heading up the opposition is Barmyblade, who got his head back in front for the first time in more than a year at Thirsk recently and should remain competitive from 4 lb higher. Golden Prosperity and Pinpoint can fight out minor honours.

Timeform Comments

Without Flaw (IRE)
Dual C&D scorer last summer. Returned with an encouraging Wetherby third but hasn't backed it up in 3 subsequent starts. Back down in grade and the handicapper continues to relent. Wide draw not ideal.
He's An Angel
Free-going sort. Capitalised on drop into classified company at Wolverhampton last month. Latest effort on turf better than the bare result would suggest (sat close to the sound gallop), and he should give his running back at the minimum trip.
Opal Storm
Back to winning ways at Southwell in April and followed it up with a solid fifth of 14 at Doncaster. Finished tamely at Hamilton in May (reported to have bled from the nose) so probably best watch returning from a 10-week break.
Barmyblade (IRE)
Won 3 times at up to 6f in 2025 (twice at Ripon) and got his head back in front for the first time in more than a year in 18-runner event at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) just under a fortnight ago, showing a better attitude than the runner-up. Remains of interest from 4 lb higher.
Let's Go Hugo (IRE)
Hard to win with and yet to get going this season, given far too much to do even allowing for a tardy start when eighth of 12 at Redcar (6f, good to firm) 7 weeks ago. Returns to the minimum trip and handicapper drops him another couple. Stall 11 could pose a problem. NON RUNNER.
Golden Prosperity (IRE)
Resumed winning ways at Catterick in April and ran well in refitted cheekpieces when 2 lengths third of 18 to Barmyblade at Thirsk (6f, good to firm) just under 2 weeks ago, keeping on final 1f. On a fair mark but his recent stalls issues temper enthusiasm somewhat.
Crafty Spirit (IRE)
Built on his reappearance run to gain a first success for this yard in 9-runner event at Wetherby (5.5f, good to firm) helped by avoiding the trouble met by others. Isn't an obvious type to follow up.
So Grateful
Lost his form following wins at Newcastle/Thirsk last year. Possibly working up to full fitness this season, taking a step back in the right direction when fourth of 13 at Ayr (6f, good to firm) last week. Could be worth chancing from his much-reduced mark.
Pinpoint
Won over 5f at Hamilton for Ewan Whillans last June and having rather lost his way for that yard, made a solid start for connections after a 5-month absence when second of 9 at Wetherby (5.5f, good to firm) last month, despite going in snatches. Task is to build on that here.
Invincible Annice (IRE)
Ended a losing run at Newcastle in November but below form since, most recently in a first-time visor there (6f) last month. First-time blinkers the headgear of choice this time.
Ziva's Star
Long-standing maiden who is limited but probably wasn't seen to best effect back at 6f when seventh of 11 at Pontefract (6f, good) just over 3 weeks ago, caught wide throughout. Her wait for that first success looks set to continue.
