Timeform View

Better known as a smart hurdler/useful chaser nowadays, EAGLE FANG produced a promising effort on just his second start in this sphere when runner up in a Leopardstown maiden 4 weeks ago. He's well up to taking a race of this nature on that evidence and earns preference over Sunny South West who appeals as the type to make his mark in this sphere. Arch Empire who was third in this 12 months ago and Path D'Oroux complete the dangers.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Eagle Fang traded at a low of 5.00 and Betfair SP of 7.69 when losing last time, a race in which it led and travelled strongly early on.

Timeform Comments

Ambitious Fellow (IRE)
Veteran hurdler/chaser who has been operating below best in recent starts and others rate much more persuasive now making debut in this sphere.
Arch Empire (FR)
Fairly useful hurdles winner who finished placed on all 3 starts on the Flat last summer, including when third in this race. Not disgraced back over timber in recent months and no surprise to see him give another good account returned to the Flat.
Catalani (IRE)
Multiple point winner who ran to a fair level when opening his account under Rules in 4-runner hunter at Down Royal (23f) in May. However, unsurprisingly seemed found wanting for a change of pace when fourth on recent Flat debut at Leopardstown (15f) 5 days ago.
Certamen (IRE)
Showed ability in bumpers/maiden hurdles and did so again when sixth of 15 in a Leopardstown maiden (15f) 4 weeks ago. May build on that now but others more appealing for win purposes.
Chain Of Destiny (IRE)
Retains little ability these days.
Double Indian
Well held in a bumper and no real short-term encouragement to glean from 2 starts on the level in recent weeks. Tackles a longer trip now.
Eagle Fang (IRE)
Smart hurdler/useful chaser who ran to a fairly useful level on first Flat since his 3-y-o days when second in a Leopardstown maiden (15f) 4 weeks ago. Well up to winning a similar event on that evidence.
Jetoile (IRE)
Useful winning hurdler/chaser who landed 13-runner handicap chase at Ballinrobe (2½m) in May for his new yard. Not discredited when sixth in a Tramore maiden making Flat debut last week but he'll need to step up on that if he's to feature prominently here.
Lauro's Legend (IRE)
Largely disappointed over hurdles and went backwards from his debut effort in this sphere when down the field in a Roscommon maiden 2 weeks ago.
Lord Ffrench (IRE)
Fair winner over hurdles (stays 21f) who wasn't seen to best effect on sole previous chase try at Tramore (2m) last summer. Lines up here fit from jumps, doing best of those held up when sixth at Punchestown (19f) 37 days ago.
Path D'oroux (FR)
Useful jumps winner but had seemingly completely lost his form when last seen during the spring. Short break needs to have perked him up, yet that is distinctly possible for one who has gone well fresh previously.
Sunny South West (IRE)
Useful dual bumper winner who made a successful hurdles debut at Cork (17f) 12 months ago. Held form well in defeat in 3 starts thereafter and he very much appeals as the type to make his mark in this sphere.
Ma Belle Etoile (IRE)
Bumper/hurdles and chase winner, recording 2 wins for this yard around a year ago. Fair effort when fifth on Flat at Fairyhouse in June prior to falling back over fences at Wexford (2m) 2 weeks ago. Remains with potential in this sphere now stamina is tested further.
