TWO COMMANDERS has been going the right way in his 3 starts so far, winning over C&D before bumping into a useful prospect at Leicester last time, and he can continue his progress as he makes his handicap debut. He is taken to see off the challenge of the in-form Aberama Gold, with Dream Deal also in the mix.

Timeform Comments

Aberama Gold
Off the mark for the year over this C&D in April and has returned to a similar level last 2 starts, second in 8-runner contest at Epsom 6 days ago. Remains 2 lb lower than for his latest success, so he's not taken lightly in his current form.
Archduke Ferdinand (IRE)
Showed the benefit of his first 2 runs this season when third at Redcar in May, leading until the last ½f. However, wasn't able to adopt the same tactics and ran poorly at York last month. On a handy mark but likely to face competition up front here.
The Good Biscuit
Won 3 times in 2025, including over C&D (soft) in October. Has continued in good heart this season with 5 in-frame efforts from 6 starts, fourth of 6 at Pontefract on his latest outing. Can give his running once more.
Two Commanders
Promising third over 7f here on debut and built on that effort when winning C&D novice next time. Progressed again when second of 6 in novice at Leicester 11 days ago, clear of the rest, and he remains with potential as he goes handicapping.
Kody B (IRE)
Easy winner of a Pontefract maiden (heavy) in October. Stepped up on his seasonal/handicap debut effort when fourth of 14 at Hamilton in May, before possibly needing the run after 7 weeks off when fifth of 6 at Chester 4 days ago. Cheekpieces now added.
Awraad (IRE)
Pontefract debut winner who went on to finish second in listed race at Ripon (6f) last summer. Making second start this season, seemingly failed to stay 7f when well held in handicap at York in May, so this run should reveal more back down in grade.
Quercus (IRE)
Boasts a fine record at this track, winning twice last summer to make it 7 C&D victories. However, faced competition for the lead and went backwards from this season's return when last of 6 here in May. First run for yard after leaving Stephen Hanlon.
Dream Deal
Three-time C&D winner who also scored at Beverley (5f) last month. Has run well with second-place finishes at Pontefract the last twice, so he can make his presence felt back up in trip at this venue.
