Timeform View

LIPS FREEDOM looked more like his old self when winning at Downpatrick last time and, although the handicapper has reacted, there should still be more to come from him now that he is up and running over hurdles. Corkbeg hasn’t won for 3 years, but he is well treated and has gone well fresh, so he must be considered a threat. Katakana is also capable of getting involved if bringing her A-game on her return.

Timeform Comments

Kamino Bello (FR)
Sligo maiden hurdle winner early last season and turned in best effort since when 7½ lengths sixth of 10 to Malbay Madness at Downpatrick last month. Down another 2 lb but likely needs even further respite if he's to be of interest from a betting perspective.
Claude (IRE)
Successful for Joseph Patrick O'Brien at Wexford on hurdling debut but has struggled since joining this yard. Wears first-time blinkers.
Kabylia (FR)
Acquitted herself well in maidens last year and hinted at a revival when sixth of 14 in handicap hurdle (12/1) at Kilbeggan (2m, good to soft) in April. Ran poorly with tongue strap back on last time, though, and has a bit to prove at present.
Secret Rock (IRE)
Lightly raced gelding who proved better than ever on debut for current yard when winning 13-runner handicap at Kilbeggan last time by 1¾ lengths from Walk Win. That form hasn't worked out, though, so a good deal more to do from a 7 lb higher mark.
Lips Freedom (GER)
One-time useful Flat performer who left previous hurdling efforts well behind in a first-time tongue strap when winning a 10-runner handicap at Downpatrick in March by 2¾ lengths from Dairy Force. Up 11 lb but the form has worked out quite well and he's clearly open to further progress.
Party President (IRE)
Won 2 handicap hurdles in late-2024/25 and retains most of that ability judged on his second in a handicap chase at Roscommon in June. Ran poorly last time, but on a handy mark if able to hit the ground running now back over hurdles.
Katakana (FR)
Showed improved form when readily landing 18-runner handicap hurdle at Thurles last season. Failed to back that up on heavy ground on final start of that campaign. Has gone well fresh for past connections and current yard is enjoying a fruitful time of things at present. On the shortlist.
Mc Swagger (IRE)
In frame first 2 starts in bumpers but has been brought along much more steadily over hurdles. Very much the type to do better in handicaps, but his pedigree suggests that he's likely to be suited by longer trips and/or a stiffer test than this handicap bow is likely to provide.
Home By The Sea (IRE)
Best effort in maiden hurdles when 5¾ lengths fourth of 14 to Like An Ocean at Roscommon 10 days ago. That performance hasn't gone unnoticed by the handicapper, though, and he'll need to step up significantly if he's to make an impact on handicap bow.
Regards To Rose (IRE)
Travelled well when off the mark in 17-runner handicap hurdle at Listowel on final outing last season. Well held on both outings this term but one to note should she attract support in the betting.
Rattledelatch (IRE)
Showed more than previously in bumper and maiden hurdles when sixth of 24 to Lizzie Twigg in latter event at Punchestown in June. Open to improvement in handicaps but is likely to prove suited by longer trips.
Kilt (IRE)
Left previous efforts behind when winning 14-runner handicap Wexford in May, having benefit of enterprising ride and beating Demanding Gerry by 4 lengths. Ran well but undone by 9 lb rise for that success when 5½ lengths fourth of 14 to Backinabit at same course 13 days ago.
Midnight Eagle (IRE)
One win from 22 starts. Creditable third of 10 in claiming hurdle at Clonmel in May for Aengus King but made no impression reverting to handicaps on debut for current connections last time.
Kingdom Calling (FR)
Maiden hurdle winner who is inconsistent and made little impact when tackling a maiden and handicap chase on his last 2 starts.
Corkbeg (IRE)
On a lengthy losing run but posted several creditable placed efforts in handicaps last summer, including when runner-up at this course. Has gone well fresh in the past and must be respected now that he finds himself 2 lb below his last winning mark.
