Timeform View

CAPTAIN CESS has shown enough on both starts this year to think he has a race like this in him. Night Emperor has been shaping up quite well over 6f and is a likely danger if seeing out this extra 1f. Coconut Bay is next on the list.

Timeform Comments

Captain Cess (IRE)
Went close on 6f Chepstow reappearance (final start for Adrian Wintle). Creditable third of 9 in handicap at Wetherby (5.5f, good to firm) 31 days ago, not clear run. Back up in trip. Has to be taken seriously.
Emerald Army (IRE)
Course winner. Twelve runs since last win in 2025 but was quickly back on track when 2 lengths sixth of 8 in handicap (9/2) at Catterick (7f, firm) 24 days ago. Capable off this sort of mark if on a going day.
Coconut Bay
It's now fourteen runs since last win in 2025 but she posted a creditable third of 9 in handicap at Catterick (7f, firm, 7/2) 8 days ago. Thereabouts if in similar form from easing mark.
Fair Isle Sioux
Sioux Nation mare who was off for more than 2 years after her debut. Hinted at ability on the second of 2 comeback outings and stands a more realistic chance now moving into handicaps.
Night Emperor (IRE)
Has shown he retains plenty of ability since returning from a lengthy absence for new yard, caught away from where the main action took place when fourth of 18 over 6f here last time. Player if as effective back at 7f.
Elashgar (IRE)
Showed improved form to score on handicap debut at Wolverhampton (6f) in February. Backed that up when second there (6f again) in March but below par switched to turf last twice. Back up in trip.
Misemerald (IRE)
Without a win since her 2-y-o days but she's in decent form at the minute, finishing a creditable third of 9 in handicap at Carlisle (1m, good, 17/2) 12 days ago.
Forever Twenty
Maiden but her third places in handicaps at Doncaster (good to firm) and Beverley (good) show she can be competitive from a basement mark.
Crown Of Dreams
Dream Ahead filly who has been well held in her qualifying runs but stands more of a chance now handicapping. The mount of De Sousa from the yard's pair.
Breeze Star (IRE)
Has yet to achieve much of worth, although he was caught wider than ideal when seventh of 9 in 6f Carlisle handicap 38 days ago. Back up in trip. Improvement needed.
