FORCE OF LIGHT is taken to make a winning start, following in the footsteps of his very smart brother Shadow Of Light. Cilician sets a clear standard of those with experience, with Fuel The Jet entitled to improve on his solid debut form.

Timeform Comments

Extended Order
Made a winning start in a weak Brighton maiden (6f). Shaped as though amiss at Kempton late last month. Looks vulnerable under a penalty against some better-calibre rivals.
Arthurian
Foaled March 13. Camelot colt. Half-brother to winner up to 9.5f Crockham Heath (2-y-o 1m winner, by Sea The Moon). Dam, French 1m winner, half-sister to smart 9f/1¼m winner All Rumours out of useful 1¼m-1½m winner Aquamarine. Makes some appeal on pedigree and gets the nod from Oisin Murphy.
Cavalier (IRE)
Supported when sixth on debut (6.5f) at this track. Only ran to a similar level when third in all-weather novice at Lingfield since. Looks the pick of the Hannon trio on jockey bookings.
Cilician (IRE)
Stepped forward from debut when only beaten 4¼ lengths in Coventry at Royal Ascot. Unable to reproduce that form when runner-up in valuable Sandow novice on first try over 7f. Enough in that performance to warrant another crack at this trip (mixed signals in pedigree). Sets a fairly useful standard.
Clive The Writer (IRE)
€27,000 foal, €28,000 yearling. Calyx gelding. half-brother to winners abroad by Blue Point and Earthlight. Dam French maiden half-sister to useful 2-y-o 6.3f/7f winner (stayed 9.5f) Coral Beach. Already been gelded and more likely to be a longer-term prospect.
Force Of Light
Foaled March 12. Lope De Vega colt. Brother to very smart 2-y-o 6f/7f winner Shadow of Light, closely related to very smart winner up to 7f Earthlight. Dam, 2-y-o 7f winner, half-sister to Criterium de Saint-Cloud Wavering. From an outstanding Godolphin family, and he's likely to run a big race.
Fuel The Jet (IRE)
€190,000 Space Blues colt. Shortest-priced newcomer and showed promise amid greenness when beaten 5¾ lengths at Thirsk (form working out well). Has to be on the shortlist with improvement likely.
Golden Eagle (IRE)
Foaled May 1. €30,000 yearling, €80,000 2-y-o, Bayside Boy colt. Dam, 2-y-o 7f winner, half-sister to smart winner up to 8.3f Ocean Tempest. Bred to make an impact as a juvenile and stable's newcomers have been going well.
Grapple
Foaled January 27. 32,000 gns yearling, Mohaather gelding. Closely related to 1m winner Showgal and half-brother to 1¼m-1¾m winner Orchard Keeper and 7f winner The Hrse Horse. Dam unraced half-sister to very smart 1¼m winner Best Name. Others have flashier pedigrees but he's in excellent hands.
Primal
Didn't built on his eye-catching debut effort when turned over by a trio of newcomers at Kempton (6f). Stepping up to 7f on a galloping track will surely suit, though Oisin Murphy partners stablemate.
Quite Cheeky (IRE)
Foaled March 12. 70,000 gns yearling, Teofilo colt. Closely related to winner up to 1½m Speycaster and half-brother to several winners, including smart winner up to 12.4f Blanchland and useful 9f-15f winner Atzeco (by Fastnet Rock). Dam unraced. Likely to come into his own over further.
Rafe's Da Man
Shaped much better than on debut when strong-travelling fourth (beaten 8¼ lengths) at Salisbury (7f). Capable of better, though probably significant that Sean Levey looks elsewhere.
Red Tail (IRE)
Foaled February 24. 20,000 gns yearling, Showcasing gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to winner up to 7f Gallagher and winner up to 1¼m Quick Wit (both smart). Yard had well-backed newcomer run well at York last week, but this one doesn't look stable's leading hope.
Revoked (IRE)
Foaled April 30. €85,000 yearling, No Nay Never colt. Brother to 2-y-o 7f winner Major Neigh Sayer. Dam, placed at 1¼m-1½m (stayed 1¾m), half-sister to very smart 2-y-o 6f/7f winner Dabirsim, won Prix Morny/Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere. Bred to be precocious and yard more than capable of readying one.
Shoot You Down (IRE)
Foaled March 21. 400,000 gns yearling, Mehmas colt. Brother to useful 2-y-o 7f winner Rochfortbridge and half-brother to 7f winner Mapledurham. Dam, unraced half-sister to smart 6f-8.5f winner First Defence. Makes plenty of appeal on paper. Market usually a good guide for stable's debutants.
