DARK ACE shaped well over 5f here last time and can come good again with the return to 6f ideal. Eddie Lynam is no stranger to success in this contest and Headmaster, who once again has the services of Dylan Browne McMonagle, heads the many dangers along with British raider Sondad and last year's winner Go Athletico, who like the selection hails from the Ado McGuinness yard.

Timeform Comments

Keke
Posted a smart performance when bolting up from the front over 6f at Naas in April and landed another win there in 5f conditions race a fortnight ago. A really smart effort will be needed to overcome top weight but still not ruled out for a yard no stranger to success in this.
Bodhi Bear (IRE)
Winner of 5f handicaps here (heavy) and at Navan (good) this year. Creditable ¾-length third of 9 to Big Gossey in course listed race 3 weeks ago.
Tango Flare (IRE)
C&D winner. Latest win at Fairyhouse in June. 10/1, good ¾-length second (Bodhi Bear nose back in third) to Big Gossey in course listed race (good to firm) 20 days ago.
The Highway Rat (IRE)
Has done all his winning at Dundalk and Navan. Creditable second of 7 in handicap at the former venue (5f, good) in June but only sixth at Dundalk since. First-time visor replaces regular blinkers.
Sondad
Progressive throughout 2025 and stepped up plenty on his seasonal return when running out a convincing winner of 6f Epsom handicap (soft) in June. First home in his group when ninth of 27 in the Wokingham and can be treated as if still in top form. British yard has won this before. Shortlisted.
Dark Thirty (IRE)
Winner of a big-field handicap at the York Dante meeting (6f, good to soft) in May and back to winning ways at Chester (6f, good to firm) 3 weeks ago. British stable has won this race in recent years.
City House (IRE)
Thirteen runs since last win in 2025 but some good runs in defeat for Ado McGuinness this year, including fourth of 15 in handicap at Cork (7f, good, 18/1) 34 days ago.
Headmaster
Built on a promising yard debut to beat several of today's rivals in a 22-runner C&D handicap (good to firm) in May and backed that up when second of 15 at Cork (7f, good) 34 days ago. Has to enter calculations for trainer seeking third win in this since 2020.
Dark Ace (IRE)
Progressive sort who won on all-weather at Wolverhampton and Lingfield this spring before excellent thirds in big fields at Newbury (6f, good) and here (5f, good to firm) in recent months. Big player for last year's winning yard.
Sir Les Patterson
Five wins from 19 Flat runs. Respectable sixth of 15 in handicap (22/1) at Cork (7f, good) 34 days ago, never nearer. Cheekpieces on first time.
Red Evolution (IRE)
Did well last season but hasn't hit the same heights in 2 outings this year. Is back on a good mark but others arrive with more pressing claims.
Glory To Be (IRE)
Gained a first handicap success at Leopardstown (7f) in April and landed a second when accounting for 6 rivals at Fairyhouse (7f, good) 10 days ago. Shouldered with a 7 lb penalty in a much stronger race now.
Genesis (IRE)
Second big-field course success of the season when showing a willing attitude to prevail by a neck on Irish Derby weekend. The handicapper hasn't missed him with an 11 lb rise so a big career best will be needed to follow up.
Moltophino (IRE)
One win from 23 starts but it came over C&D. Below form when 3¼ lengths seventh of 16 to Genesis in handicap at this course (5f, good to firm, 9/1) 20 days ago, not ideally placed. Back up in trip.
Oro Blanco (IRE)
Took his record to 2-4 when dominating a match race with Gavoo at Naas (6f, good) 24 days ago. Could hardly face a much more different scenario now but there is surely more to come from this lightly-raced sort.
Cuban Grey
Course winner. Respectable 1¼ lengths fourth of 16 to Genesis in handicap at this course (5f, good to firm, 33/1) 20 days ago. Up in trip.
Gavoo (IRE)
Successful twice last year, including in 6f conditions event at Dundalk in November. Probably ran up to form when beaten ¾ length by Oro Blanco in a match at Naas (6f, good) 24 days ago. Visored first time back in a handicap.
Back Down Under (IRE)
Dual course winner. Good fourth of 22 to Headmaster here in May and shaped as if still in good form with cheekpieces added when 3¼ lengths fifth of 16 to Genesis in 5f course handicap 20 days ago, faring best of those held up. Back up in trip. 2 lb out of handicap.
Go Athletico (FR)
3 lb out of the handicap here but he won this off a higher mark last year and arrives on the back of a creditable second here last month. Part of a strong hand for Ado McGuinness.
Alfred Tennyson (IRE)
Unreliable sort. Went close in Navan handicap last month but latest sixth in a conditions event at Limerick was no more than respectable. 4 lb out of weights and probably best to look elsewhere.
Leveraging (IRE)
6/1, career best when winning 14-runner maiden at Dundalk (6f) in December. Off since and could hardly have found a much tougher race in which to make his handicap debut.
