Timeform View

No shortage of chances and despite his relative lack of experience in comparison to most, it could be worth chancing ETIENNE. Richard Spencer's colt shaped with definite promise when just touched off on debut at Newmarket 23 days ago and with that form worth viewing positively, he looks to hold good claims. Bint Archange sets the standard on her victory at listed level and is an obvious threat, along with Sky Secret. Rollthedicebaby and Final Appeal complete the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

From Me To You (IRE)
Son of Persian Force who was notably green and ran to only a modest level on 2 of his 3 starts in early season maiden/novice events. Feasible to think he can step forward following a break/having been gelded but he will need to. Cheekpieces on 1st time.
Wait Geordie
Won on debut at Bath in April before good third in the Lily Agnes at Chester's May Meeting. That form has substance but he hasn't kicked on from that in 2 subsequent runs, gelded prior to finishing last of 7 on nursery debut at Nottingham (5f) 16 days ago. Others preferred.
Bint Archange (IRE)
Successful on second of 2 starts in novice company and proved her Queen Mary running all wrong when getting back on the up to land listed Dragon Stakes at Sandown (5f) 2 weeks ago. Sets the standard on that effort and she's very much one to consider.
Call Me Tomorrow (IRE)
Finished runner up on 2 of her 4 starts to date, latterly at Salisbury (5f) in May but not for the first time proved too free when fifth of 9 in novice at York (5f) 5 weeks ago. Will need to settle better if she's to make an impact in this line up.
Sky Secret
A'ali colt who has been notably strong in the betting both starts and he improved considerably on his promising debut fourth when running out a convincing winner of a Leicester maiden (5f) in May. Remains open to improvement and he's very much of interest here.
Vollering (IRE)
Knew her job when winning a 9-runner novice at Redcar (5f) in April. Struggled in Group 3 company next time but has run well both starts in listed company in France since, again showing plenty of speed when third at Deauville (5f) 2 weeks ago. Can go well again with Tom Marquand aboard.
Ballisty (IRE)
Lucky Vega colt who has run to a similar level in finishing placed all 4 starts to date, seemingly just lacking a change of pace when third on nursery debut at York (6f) 7 days ago. Blinkers go on for stable who won this in 2024 but drop back to 5f doesn't look ideal.
Bill The Bull (IRE)
Didn't need to improve when justifying cramped odds in a Bath maiden (5.7f) in June prior to finishing well held back at listed level when 10 lengths last of 8 to Bint Archange at Sandown (5f) 2 weeks ago. Lacks the obvious potential of one or two here. Tongue strap on 1st time.
Final Appeal (IRE)
Son of Inns Of Court who confirmed debut promise when a commanding winner of a Wolverhampton novice (5f) in April. Not in same form when fifth in Lily Agnes at Chester (5f) 2 weeks later but given a break/gelded since and no surprise to see him get back on the up for top stable.
Leucothea (IRE)
Soldier's Call filly who has run to a similar level (fair form) all 3 starts to date, finding only one too good dropped into selling company at Goodwood (5f) 6 weeks ago. Much more required in this stronger company.
Nascent Star
Starman colt who has run to a similar level in finishing fourth both starts to date, latterly in 8-runner Windsor novice 3 weeks ago. Needs to find significant improvement if he's to open his account here.
Seathegulls
Gambled on/shaped better than the bare result in the Brocklesby but has only run to a similarly modest level in pair of starts since being gelded at Goodwood/Windsor. Longer trips promise to suit moving forward and he's passed over.
Courage Best (IRE)
Hails from a family with ability and she caught the eye without threatening when ninth of 12 on third start in a Windsor novice (6f) 5 days ago. Stable landed this 12 months ago but she looks an optimistic runner on what she's achieved to date.
Minster Boy (IRE)
Calyx colt who was well backed and took a step forward on his debut fourth when finding only a bigger improver too strong in an 18-runner novice here (6f) 9 days ago. Appeals as the type to progress further and he's very much a live each-way player.
Niewiadoma (IRE)
Overcame inexperience to win 6-runner novice at Thirsk (5f) on her debut but disappointed in listed/Group 2 company on each of her 2 starts since. Has sights lowered here but others preferred nevertheless.
Rollthedicebaby (IRE)
Showed promise from off the pace when second on debut at Goodwood in May and she duly built on that when running out a ready winner of an 8-runner Goodwood maiden (6f, heavy) 5 weeks ago. Interesting she is the pick of Sean Levey and respected with prospect of more to come.
Etienne
Rajasinghe colt who attracted support and showed plenty of ability when finding only one with experience too strong in 6-runner Newmarket novice (6f) 23 days ago, just failing. Expected to build on that and he's well worth a second look.
Angels Lane
Harry Angel filly who is speedily-bred and defied greenness when running out a 33/1 winner of a Chepstow maiden (5f, soft) 6 weeks ago. Certainly no fluke about that effort and whilst this is clearly more demanding, she's another open to improvement.
Clueisinthetitle
Ubettabelieveit filly who offered little when last of 9 in maiden at Chepstow (5f, soft) on debut in June and proved too free when third of 5 in a Brighton maiden (5.3f) 4 weeks ago. Looks firmly up against it here.
Kodi Bear Light (IRE)
Kodi Bear filly who had little trouble justifying cramped odds under a no-nonsense ride when successful second time out at Thirsk (5f) in May. Disappointed when sixth in Hilary Needler at Beverley later that month but given a break ahead of this. However, Clifford Lee seemingly prefers Final Appeal.
Holi Scarlett (IRE)
Progressed gradually across 3 qualifying runs before justifying good support to make a successful nursery debut at Nottingham (5f, good). Ran creditably under a penalty when third at Yarmouth 10 days ago but this assignment demands further progress.
Past Passion
Lope Y Fernandez filly who showed some promise in novice/maidens and back on the up returned to firmer ground when second on nursery debut at Nottingham (5f) 16 days ago, running on. Still, that only amounts to fair form and this asks for more.
Seed Ya Later (IRE)
Confirmed debut promise when winning at Musselburgh in April but hasn't kicked on from that in 2 starts since, running poorly on the back of a 7-week break when sixth of 7 at Nottingham (5f) 16 days ago. Hood on 1st time with work to do.
Zigazig Ah
Showed a fair bit of ability to finish a close second in an all-weather maiden on debut at Lingfield (6f) and she duly built on that when successful at Yarmouth (6f) 22 days ago, seeing it out well given how keen she was early. Very much the type to go on improving and she's not out of things.
Holliesthedollie
A'ali filly who shaped much better than first time up when fourth at Lingfield in June but she failed to repeat that performance when eighth of 13 in maiden at Windsor (5f) 33 days ago. Looks firmly up against it in this company.
Devon Angel
Left her qualifying efforts behind equipped with a tongue strap/from basement mark when third of 5 on nursery debut at Ffos Las (5f) 4 days ago but she looks out of her depth if getting a run here. RESERVE.
