Timeform View

C&D winner ACT OF VIOLENCE is potentially well treated on his second outing for a yard almost certain to get the best of him, so he could be the answer. Oasis Cover built on handicap debut/return at the second attempt when runner-up at Redcar so is next best starting out for a new yard, with Get Up Everybody also considered down in class.

Timeform Comments

Sergeant Mayer (IRE)
Has won at this course but is yet to fire this season. Regular cheekpieces now discarded and he's tough to fancy despite drop in grade and stable's good form.
Get Up Everybody (IRE)
Maiden after 13 starts who made the frame first 2 outings this year, one of which is working out well. Last couple of runs have been below par but his stable is generally in good order and this first dip into 0-60 company could see him figure.
Von Trotter
Runner-up in maiden in March on reappearance but not got near that form in handicaps since, plugging on as if in need of stiffer tests last time.
Oasis Cover
Well suited by step back up to 6f when good second of 10 at Redcar for Edward Bethell 28 days ago and should play a leading role in similar company here, though she has changed yards in the meantime.
Act Of Violence
Returns to C&D where he recorded his last win back in 2024. Needed run on first start since leaving David Loughnane when fourth of 6 at Chepstow over 5f (7/4F) 21 days ago and he could make a much greater impact with this under his belt for stable renowned for getting the best out of new recruits.
Jack Rabbit Slims
Still a maiden after 13 starts, though was only beaten a nose at Beverley 25 days ago. Respectable fourth of 8 there 4 days ago and now steps back up to 6f with place claims.
Mister Sky Blue (IRE)
Placed twice this season including second of 7 at Hamilton in June but only ninth of 18 in a handicap at Thirsk 17 days ago in first-time blinkers, though wasn't ideally placed. Could bounce back but strike rate suggests he's an unlikely winner.
Hurstwood
Four-time C&D winner but has been out of sorts and hard to fancy in current heart despite tumbling mark.
Indy's Angel
Returned to form when runner-up last 2 starts, including when second of 9 to subsequent winner at Catterick over 7f 10 days ago. Back at 6f but more required to end losing run.
Long Shot
Went close when second of 7 at Catterick in weak affair over 6f 26 days ago, collared dying strides. Probably remained in form when fourth of 9 over C&D 12 days ago and this looks a realistic race for him to figure in.
Lady Bouquet
Made the frame 3 times in her last 4 starts including a third of 8 in a handicap at Pontefract 19 days ago. Should prove competitive. Engaged 16:35 Hamilton Thursday.
