Timeform View

THAPA VC had excuses on account of the steady pace at Kempton 10 days ago and having previously knocked firmly on the door this season, he could be ready to strike provided he gets a stronger gallop to aim at back on turf. Havana Mojito has been in fine form at Brighton in recent months and is a threat if transferring that form to this different track. Wilde and Dandy is next best, whilst Big Apple Jack looks worthy of a crack at this longer trip.

Timeform Comments

Travis
Bounced back to form (without usual headgear) when capitalising on a falling mark in 14-runner handicap at Redcar (7f) in June. Seen to good effect then but proved a 6 lb rise not too harsh when 2 lengths third at Beverley (7.4f) 2 weeks ago. Can go well again in this groove.
Thapa Vc (IRE)
C&D winner who lines up here in good form, going very close to ending a losing run at Bath (1m) on his penultimate start in June. Found a steady pace against him when fifth at Kempton latest and he very much remains of interest from this sort of mark.
Maxi Boy
Losing run stretches back to 2024 but he was placed 3 times on all-weather last year and he's run well on each of his last 2 visits to this venue, latest when fourth of 9 in handicap over 6f 2 weeks ago. Mark has eased further ahead of this.
Renewable Dream
Maiden who posted his best effort of last season when third over 1m here in August. However, he failed to build on that thereafter, again tame in the finish when ninth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (7f) in January. Switched yards ahead of return.
War And Love
Some promise in all-weather maidens but sold cheaply from Sir Mark Prescott's yard and yet to better modest form in 2 starts upon returning from a lengthy absence this summer. Others make much more appeal.
Wilde And Dandy
Successful off this mark over C&D last summer and showed something akin to that form after 5 months off when staying on for third at Yarmouth (7f) 16 days ago. A repeat gives him claims back at this venue for stable who took this prize 12 months ago.
Big Apple Jack
Ended 2025 out of form but he's posted good placed efforts on 2 of his 4 starts since the spring, looking worthy of a try at this trip when second at Pontefract (6f) 3 weeks ago. This looks a stronger affair but he's certainly not discounted.
Havana Mojito
All 3 victories at Brighton and he arrives on the back of a trio of runner up finishes at that venue in recent months, beaten only by a subsequent winner for the latest of them 18 days ago. Promising rider takes off handy 5 lb if backing up those efforts here.
