WILLOW WOOD looked one to keep firmly on side when comfortably scoring over this trip at Ffos Las 44 days go and a 6 lb rise may not be enough to prevent Ed Walker's filly following up with the prospect of more to come over middle distances. Boilermaker and Rossa Raheen may provide chief resistance.

Timeform Comments

Royal Poetry (IRE)
Lope de Vega filly who got off the mark in 4-runner novice at Wolverhampton in April. Finished runner up on 2 of her 3 starts in handicaps since, not for the first time her finishing effort not matching the way she travelled at Salisbury (1¼m, heavy) 6 weeks ago. Tackles a longer trip now.
Tai Hang Pegasus (USA)
Fair maiden who went closer than previously and may well have benefited from a stronger gallop when second of 5 in handicap at Epsom (1½m) 9 days ago. Didn't look entirely at home on the track then and he may yet have more to offer at this trip back on a more conventional track.
That Darn Cantor
Showed first meaningful form when fifth of 9 in a maiden at Yarmouth over 1m in April. Much tighter in betting having been gelded but seemingly not 100% when eased off on handicap debut at Nottingham (1¼m) 45 days ago. This will reveal more in first-time cheekpieces.
Rossa Raheen
Palace Pier filly who has stepped forward switched to handicaps over 1¼m, not far off previous best when running on fourth at Newbury for the latest of them 16 days ago. Worthy of a crack at this longer trip on that evidence.
Willow Wood (IRE)
Brought along steadily in novice/maiden company last autumn and all the better for her reappearance/handicap debut fourth at Lingfield in the spring when running out a convincing winner at Ffos Las (1½m, soft) 44 days ago. Raised 6 lb but that unlikely to prove her limit at this trip.
Boilermaker (FR)
Didn't show much in trio of novice events at 1m but different proposition switched to handicaps, running just about his best race yet when third behind a pair ridden more patiently during the early exchanges at Goodwood 4 weeks ago. Cheekpieces now reached for and likely there's better to come.
