Timeform View

ABBOTSFORD showed enough to suggest he can land a race of this type last time and is taken go one better on the back of a gelding operation. Numantia and Sakoku head the list of dangers in a maiden featuring some top yards.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Abbotsford traded at a low of 1.50 and Betfair SP of 14.72 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently.

Timeform Comments

Solness (FR)
Top-class chaser who scored in a Grade 1 at Leopardstown in December. Jumped none too fluently when 4 lengths third of 6 to Edwardstone in Celebration Chase at Sandown in April. Makes belated Flat debut against a field of 3-y-os but has to be respected for top connections.
Abbotsford
Stepped up markedly on debut effort when head second of 10 to Atomic City in maiden at Cork (10.5f, heavy, 15/2) in May, pair clear. Gelded since and this well-bred sort is open to further improvement.
Numantia (IRE)
Ran to a similar level when making the frame over 1¼m here on both outings. A last-time-out winner has come out of his latest race and he should go well again.
Pierre Grosse
Fairly useful gelding who's made the frame all 4 starts this season, latest when second of 9 in handicap at Down Royal (13f, soft) last month, suited by increase in trip. May prove vulnerable for win purposes back in a maiden.
Teoest (IRE)
Teofilo gelding. Fourth of 10 in maiden at Dundalk (1½m, 22/1) on debut in May. That form has been well advertised though this requires a big step forward.
Tokyo Tower (IRE)
€41,000 foal, Japan colt. Showed plenty to work on when sixth of 11 in maiden (10/3) at this course (1¼m, good to firm) on debut 23 days ago. Open to progress.
Sakoku (IRE)
Showed more than first time up when second of 10 in maiden at Leopardstown (13f, good to firm, 16/1) in June. Yard's having a recent good spell and another bold show likely.
