Timeform View

Preference is for BATTLING SIKI who showed fair form in maidens and wasn't discredited when third in a claimer at Tramore last time. The lightly-raced 4-y-o could still have more to offer and is taken to get the better of the Denis Hogan-trained pair, with Kashel Spring getting the vote for second ahead of Concert Party.

Timeform Comments

Concert Party (IRE)
Dual Flat winner for Richard Hannon last autumn, but only modest form over hurdles upon joining current yard and ran poorly back on the Flat in handicap at Killarney 6 days ago. However, she's one to note dropped in grade.
Jr Mahon (IRE)
Fair maiden on the Flat, but after a spell over hurdles he reportedly bled when tailed off in handicap at Fairyhouse (1¾m) last month. Others more persuasive.
Kashel Spring (IRE)
Dual winner for Joseph O'Brien, including over C&D, but little impact in 4 maiden hurdles for current connections. Back on the Flat after 3 months off, possibly needed the run when down the field in handicap at Tramore (1½m) 13 days ago. Could go well with cheekpieces applied.
Minaun View
Finally off the mark in claimer at Bellewstown (1m) at the beginning of the month, benefiting from a well-judged ride from this apprentice. Made all to follow up at Killarney 5 days ago, though might find it tougher to repeat the same tactics in this contest.
Macinamillion (IRE)
Modest winner on the Flat who showed fairly useful form when scoring over fences last summer. However, down the field back on the level in handicap at Thurles (2m) when last seen in October. First run since leaving Gavin Patrick Cromwell.
May Night
Had been finding things tough last year for S. M. Duffy, but making stable debut he returned to form when third of 7 in claimer over this C&D a year ago. Task is now to pick up where he left off having been absent since.
Talking Tough (IRE)
On a lengthy losing run and has lost his way, again finishing well held in minor event at Bellewstown (12.3f) 18 days ago.
She's Ideal (IRE)
Remains a maiden but made the frame in handicaps first 4 starts this season. However, she's been below form last 3 outings, seventh of 12 at Limerick (12.3f) 9 days ago. Given another try in cheekpieces as she drops back in trip.
Battling Siki (IRE)
Showed improved form when fifth of 15 in maiden at Bellewstown (11.4f) in April. Well held here next time, before not disgraced in first-time cheekpieces when third of 6 in claimer at Tramore (1½m) 13 days ago. Remains lightly raced and can make a bold bid.
Romantic War (IRE)
Long-standing maiden who fared no better fitted with blinkers the last twice, last of 16 in handicap at Navan (5f) on latest outing in April. Headgear left off as he goes significantly back up in trip.
Shelbourne Flyer (IRE)
Fair form at best without winning for John McConnell. Has attracted support both starts for present stable this season, but never involved when fifteenth of 22 in handicap at Leopardstown (9f) 11 days ago. Blinkers now reached for.
