Timeform View

Having shaped with promise on her only start last year, CONTRITE possibly found conditions against her on reappearance so she's worth another chance to build on her debut effort. She can see off the challenge of Taj Crown, who was beaten only by the odds-on favourite at Killarney, with Tyraxes also capable of getting involved.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Taj Crown traded at a low of 15.50 and Betfair SP of 15.50 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently.

Timeform Comments

Half Cut (IRE)
Well held in maiden at Fairyhouse (1½m) on debut last month and fared little better when ninth of 10 at Tramore 13 days ago.
Tyraxes (IRE)
Placed on all-weather 3 of first 4 starts this year and transferred that form to turf when fourth of 13 in 1m maiden at Killarney in May. After 9 weeks off, below-par effort at the same course 6 days ago, but no surprise to see him bounce back returned to further.
Taj Crown (IRE)
Runner-up in 1½m Limerick claimer on first outing last month and has soon got back on track after a lesser effort next time, fitted with tongue strap when second of 5 in maiden at Killarney (1m) 6 days ago. Merits consideration.
Avec Grand Plaisir (FR)
Still in need of the experience but showed improved form sent handicapping when third of 12 at Cork (1m) 5 weeks ago. Not dismissed lightly as he goes back up in distance.
Countertop (IRE)
Offered little in maidens last season and again finished down the field on reappearance when thirteenth of 15 in claimer at Bellewstown (1m) 17 days ago.
Noble Venture (IRE)
Didn't make much impact in a pair of maidens last month, dropped back in trip when tenth of 13 at the Curragh (1m) 24 days ago. Needs another run for a handicap mark.
Shay's Dream (IRE)
Looks to have been brought about gradually in a trio of maidens so far, never involved when eleventh of 15 at Fairyhouse (7f) 12 days ago. Needs to leave those efforts behind up in trip.
Stabannon (IRE)
Has looked one for the longer term in his 2 outings, again finishing well held when twelfth of 17 in maiden at Fairyhouse (1½m) last month.
Churchfield Lady
Little promise on debut and failed to improve when eighth of 10 in maiden at Down Royal (10.4f, soft) a month ago. Less testing conditions here but has plenty to find.
Contrite
From a good family and made an encouraging start when making the frame in a Dundalk maiden (1m) last year. Possibly unsuited by testing conditions at Cork (10.5f) on return, so she remains capable of better. Major player with tongue strap added.
Guinelot (FR)
Showed promise when mid-field in a Down Royal maiden (10.5f) on debut and ran to a similar level when fourth of 9 at Killarney (11.3f) 7 days ago. Could be in the mix.
