CALL GLORY might prove the answer to this opener. Last year's winner Amathus was back on form when fourth at Chepstow a fortnight ago and could go well in this race again. Beau Jardine is next on the list.

Timeform Comments

Margorie
Much improved when off the mark at third attempt in 6f Windsor novice in September . Hasn't reproduced that in half a dozen handicaps since but her mark has come down and her late headway for fifth over 6f at Chepstow last time suggests this return to 7f should suit.
Call Glory (IRE)
Largely consistent since winning twice at Southwell in January. Creditable second of 5 over 7f at Leicester (good to firm) 26 days ago. Considered.
Shades Of May
Three all-weather wins between February and April. Freshened up since a disappointing run at Southwell in May. His mark still looks workable but needs to prove he's fully effective on turf.
Amathus (IRE)
Won this race under Frederick Tett last year. Creditable fourth of 8 in handicap at Chepstow (1m, good to firm, 20/1) 13 days ago, nearest finish. Could make a bold bid in this again.
Beau Jardine (IRE)
Snapped a losing run on testing ground at Lingfield last month. Well beaten over 1m at Kempton since but should be happier back at 7f.
Happier (IRE)
A fair 5f/6f scorer during her time with Tim Easterby. Sharper for reappearance when fourth of 9 at Wetherby (5.5f, good to firm) last month but well beaten over 5f at Windsor since. Significantly back up in trip now.
Endowed
Won twice at Chepstow (6f) last summer. Off 9 months, probably needed the run when last of 6 at Brighton (1m) 32 days ago. Back on his last successful mark so a revival isn't ruled out.
Snooker Mccrew
Gained a first win on all-weather at Lingfield (1m) in summer 2024 but seen only twice since, failing to beat a rival on recent return from 23 months off for new trainer Max Comley.
Stacey Racey
Proved consistent on all-weather earlier in the year and may have needed a recent Wolverhampton handicap outing after 4 months. The first-time cheekpieces worn there are retained.
Miraflores
Long-standing maiden who is having her first outing for 5 months here. It's likely the wait for a win will go on.
