Timeform View

WOLF PRINCE proved he retains plenty of ability when making all in first-time cheekpieces at Sligo 9 days ago and is taken to follow up despite a 5 lb higher mark. Dontgowithjoe, successful in back-to-back handicap hurdles last August, remains unexposed and is a big threat if fully tuned up on return, with Eye of A Tiger also respected from a yard with a strong recent record in this race.

Timeform Comments

Wolf Prince (IRE)
Won back-to-back handicap hurdles in spring 2024. Returned from lengthy absence with a couple of spins on the Flat and proved he retains all of his ability in first-time cheekpieces when winning 12-runner handicap at Sligo by 3½ lengths from Dairy Force. Remains well treated on those past wins.
Fiveonefive (IRE)
Won 3 successive editions of a Cartmel handicap but could finish no closer than fourth when attempting to make it 4 last time. Has slipped further in the weights, though, and can't be dismissed now racing off his lowest mark since making a successful handicap debut over 3 years ago.
Sir Allen
Enhanced his good record fresh when defying a 15-month absence on Flat return at Navan in late-March, but could muster only a respectable effort when 12 lengths fourth of 9 to Sequoiaspirit returned to this sphere at Roscommon last time. Back down in trip now.
Spinola Bay
Won both starts in handicaps last season, latterly a big-field race at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting. Let down by jumping on final start of that campaign and reverts to handicaps after 6-month break from a mark 6 lb higher than his last winning one.
Dontgowithjoe (IRE)
Very much on the up when travelling smoothly to land a double at this course (17f) last August, deserving credit for overcoming a pace bias, and likely to make a bold bid for the hat-trick if returning from near 11-month break in similar form.
Ballyearl (FR)
Won Tipperary maiden hurdle last season but shaped as if amiss in first-time tongue strap when sent chasing at Wexford on return. Hood removed now back over hurdles.
Eye Of A Tiger (IRE)
Kilbeggan maiden hurdle winner who has failed to fire on her last 2 starts but notably attracted support at this course on the first occasion. Yard has won this race for the last 2 years and is going much better now. Respected.
Eye Contact
Best effort when fourth of 8 in minor event hurdle at Ballinrobe (2¼m, good) in May and shaped better than the bare result when 13¼ lengths sixth of 14 to In The Trenches in novice hurdle at Downpatrick last time. Tongue strap back on now tackling a handicap.
Free Flow (USA)
Clear-cut winner of Thurles maiden hurdle last spring but it's been a struggle in handicap company since. Cheekpieces back on now returning from 4-month break for new yard.
Space Warrior (IRE)
On long losing run but returned to form when 6¾ lengths third of 16 to Le Diablo at Clonmel in April. Place claims again if able to back that performance up.
