THE TUNGUSKA EVENT has held his form well this season and with his latest Newcastle effort easy to strike a line through, he gets the nod to resume winning ways. Pimentel produced another good effort when third at Brighton recently and she looks the selection's biggest threat back sprinting, with Apex Star taken to fill out third.

Maiden winner at Lingfield in September but has rather lost her way since making the switch to handicap company. Plenty to prove having been off a further 3 months since her return.
Crafty Blue (IRE)
Fair 7f winner at 2yrs. Well below par in handicaps this season though, a breathing operation prior to her latest start making no difference. Hopes pinned on first-time cheekpieces sparking a revival.
The Tunguska Event (IRE)
Front runner whose 3 victories have come over this trip. Easy to put a line through his latest Newcastle effort over 5f (ploughed a lone furrow on far rail) so worth treating as still in top form. Leading player reunited with an excellent claimer.
Goldenstateofmind (IRE)
Showed plenty of ability when runner-up at Thirsk on debut (5f) in May 2025. Little to shout about in 4 starts since, including sporting first-time blinkers in 6f Wolverhampton handicap last month.
Maximum Velocity (IRE)
Opened his account in a 7f Redcar handicap in May but wasn't seen to best effect at Musselburgh next time. Got back on track whilst suggesting the drop back to 6f wasn't ideal when third of 9 at Doncaster last month and that tempers enthusiasm here. First-time cheekpieces go on.
Landslide
Has looked a hard ride in each of his 3 starts. No surprise to see the hood/cheekpieces reapplied but is already one to have reservations about now switched to a handicap.
Pimentel
Won Brighton novice in September and has been shaping up well of late, most recently when third of 6 at Brighton (7f, good) just over 3 weeks ago, giving the winner more to think about than the runner-up but losing out for second late. Shortlisted from the same mark.
Apex Star (IRE)
Has made a solid start in handicaps, proving himself on turf when 3 lengths second of 11 at Bath (5.7f) last month. Again showed speed but his response of the bridle was distinctly limited having a first start at a bare 5f when down the field at Windsor recently. Returns to 6f.
