Timeform View

VEGA STORM is significantly less exposed than most in this line-up and he's fancied to build on his in-the-frame effort over C&D 2 weeks ago. Ideal Guest and Good Karma both arrive in good form and also merit serious consideration.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

The pace doesn’t look like being overly strong here and Ideal Guest should still be served best by being ridden prominently: The leaders will have to go harder than the predicted pace forecast if the hold-up horses such as Kings Merchant are going to come into things.

Timeform Comments

Gressington (IRE)
Winner at Newcastle in December but not much impact since, albeit taking a small step back in right direction when fourth of 9 in handicap (10/1) at Ayr (1m, firm) 9 days ago. His task is now to build on that.
Vince Le Prince
Has a good record here (3 C&D wins) and runner-up twice at this track in April. No better than respectable efforts of late, though, and he trailed home last of 10 in a handicap at Thirsk (7f, good to firm) 21 days ago. Blinkers back on.
Kings Merchant
Went close at Doncaster early this month before finally ending a lengthy losing run in an 8-runner handicap at Chester (7f, good to firm) 12 days ago, albeit probably somewhat fortunate given the runner-up had a very troubled passage. Still feasibly treated from 3 lb higher.
Good Karma
Proved suited by more positive tactics when getting off the mark for 2026 in 11-runner handicap at Wolverhampton (7f) at the start of last month and backed that up with another creditable second of 8 in handicap at Carlisle (7f, good) 2 weeks later. Respected again after another 2 lb rise.
Ideal Guest (FR)
Had been shaping up quite well prior to snapping a near 3-year losing run in an 8-runner handicap at Pontefract (6f, good to firm, 13/8) 23 days ago. Has gone well at this track before and he makes appeal again from 3 lb higher.
Vega Storm (IRE)
Produced his most encouraging effort so far on just his second handicap outing when fourth of 9 in handicap at this C&D (firm, 9/1) 14 days ago, left poorly placed before making ground up late. Can build on that having been dropped 1 lb.
Wise Crack (IRE)
No better than mid-field in 4 starts for this yard, including when switched back to all-weather at Newcastle 4 weeks earlier. Visor goes on but has plenty to prove.
Patontheback (IRE)
Winner at Musselburgh last August but hasn't given much indication that he's ready to capitalise on a mark that has edged back down in 3 outings this year.
