Timeform View

BACK TO CALI can make it second time lucky for Dan Skelton with his Stratford form having been boosted. Mancero's 2 visits to Worcester have resulted in a win and second over 2½m this summer and he could be a threat if as effective over this longer distance. The shortlist is completed by Indian Sunbird, who was caught too far back at Market Rasen last time and had been a good second over 3m at Southwell prior to that.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Back To Cali traded at a low of 1.54 and Betfair SP of 1.56 when losing last time, a race in which it raced towards the rear.

Timeform Comments

Roxboro River (IRE)
Fair hurdler who has finished runner-up over hurdles at Bangor and over C&D this summer. Only sixth over fences at Cartmel on Saturday, though.
Back To Cali (IRE)
Reached the frame on 4 of 5 handicap hurdle starts for Shark Hanlon in Ireland. Failed to land short odds at Stratford on his first outing for Dan Skelton but went down only narrowly having conceded first run. The third at Stratford has won well since. Leading claims.
Catuaba (IRE)
In good form in summer/autumn 2024, winning at Stratford and runner-up on 3 other occasions. Not seen since. Given a chance by the handicapper as a result but the betting is perhaps the best guide after such a long time off.
Barry Fife (IRE)
Fair form when runner-up on hurdle debut at Uttoxeter in March 2025 but hasn't reproduced that form since, pulling up over C&D latest. First-time blinkers need to make a big difference.
Lunar Morning (IRE)
Modest form, beaten just over 5 lengths fifth on 23f Market Rasen handicap debut 17 days ago. A lightly-raced profile provides hope that he may not have reached his limit.
Spitalfield (IRE)
Only one win from 27 runs. Reacted well to cheekpieces when third at Warwick (25f) in May but has failed to build on it twice since. Needs another change of headgear (first-time blinkers) to spark a return to form.
Indian Sunbird (IRE)
Dual winner around 3m in the first half of last season. Back to form at the second time of asking after a break when second over 3m at Southwell (good) in June and left with too much to do when sixth at Market Rasen last month (still in good form).
Swingforthefence (IRE)
Made no impact in maiden/novice hurdles and fitting of cheekpieces failed to improve matters switched to handicaps in the spring. Also has a tongue tie added back from 112 days off.
Mancero (FR)
First win for David Pipe when seeing off 8 rivals over 2½m here under Sean Bowen in May. Pulled up at Market Rasen next time but put that quickly behind him when runner-up back here (2½m again) 12 days. Player if stamina holds back up in trip.
Luminaries (IRE)
Had a cracking spell over hurdles last spring, winning 4 times. Hasn't hit the same heights since but did hint at a return to form at Hexham 31 days ago. Cheekpieces go back on.
Alderley Charlie
Little show under both codes until second of 8 in handicap hurdle at Ffos Las (3m) in May. Needs to back it up now operating from 4 lb out of the weights.
Citizen Jane
Point scorer. Winless over hurdles in career and beaten a long way when reaching the frame in a pair of Stratford handicap chases back under Rules in recent weeks.
