Timeform View

Only a handful of these make any serious appeal, with GAME POINT selected to build on a promising start in this sphere with further improvement on the cards. Penny Express had had plenty of tries to get off the mark and Gordon Elliott's 6-y-o may emerge as the selection's nearest pursuer, while Highland Realm made a low-key start over hurdles recently but warrants considerable respect given connections.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Game Point traded at a low of 2.56 and Betfair SP of 3.74 when losing last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field.

Timeform Comments

Plastic Paddy
Regressive Flat performer who showed no aptitude for hurdling twice in May. Well beaten at Bellewstown back on the level most recently and can only be watched.
Among The Pines (IRE)
Well beaten all 5 starts on the Flat, including on yard debut at Down Royal in May. Hard to envisage him featuring on hurdling debut.
Chasing Blues (IRE)
Showed his first form on his first outing since leaving Gavin Patrick Cromwell after 14 months off when fourth of 14 in maiden hurdle at this course (2½m, good to firm) just under 3 weeks ago, though again carried head awkwardly and made mistakes.
Colwyn Bay (FR)
Showed a bit on belated debut when third in bumper at Clonmel in April but little promise from all 3 starts since.
Drumconnor Hill (IRE)
Runner-up on his completed start in points and showed more than first time up over hurdles when fourth of 15 in 2m maiden at Ballinrobe in May, running on. Surprising to see him kept to this trip but this may not take an awful lot of winning.
Highland Realm (IRE)
Showed plenty and just failed on debut in Tramore bumper last summer and looked more of a stayer than his pedigree might suggest when fifth of 16 in maiden at Bellewstown (17f, good) on return/hurdling debut recently. Open to progress but will likely flourish over further.
Owl's Delight (IRE)
Little show in 4 starts last year (trained on debut by Patrick Foley) and has moved yards again ahead of this return.
Penny Express (IRE)
Fair hurdler who has several placed efforts to his name and is best excused latest Kilbeggan fifth (unable to sustain effort as big move seemed to tell). Solid each-way claims once again.
Betterluckthistime (IRE)
Huge prices and tailed off in 2 maiden hurdles.
Blue Nude (IRE)
Tailed off in bumper/maiden hurdle.
Finjimk (IRE)
No impact in bumper/maiden hurdle. Needs more time and distance.
Game Point (IRE)
Fairly useful maiden at his best on the Flat and bright start over hurdles with a hood fitted, third of 15 in maiden at Roscommon (2m, good) 17 days ago, just unable to go with pair ridden closer to the pace. Unlikely we've seen all he has to offer so can open his account.
Pinkarizon (IRE)
Fair maiden at best on Flat for Warren Greatrex but sold cheaply from that yard and has made no impact in a couple of maiden hurdles (saddle slipped latest).
Plus Or Minus (IRE)
Well beaten in 7 Flat starts. Needs this switch to hurdles to prove transformative.
Megaball (IRE)
Went with no promise when pulled up in maiden hurdle at Sligo on debut 11 days ago. Tongue tie applied. RESERVE.
Texas Red (FR)
Didn't offer a great deal in 4 bumper starts for Ronald O'Leary and looked in need of experience on hurdling debut for new connections on return at Downpatrick last month. RESERVE.
