Timeform View

DANNICK recorded a good sectional when finally off the mark in good style at Lingfield 10 days ago and looks capable of defying a penalty. Finn Ironside has had excuses since a good third at Doncaster in the spring and was twice a winner off similar marks over this trip last summer, while recent C&D winner Gunfighter remains well treated on old form.

Timeform Comments

Dannick
Confirmed promise of previous run when belatedly off the mark in good style at Lingfield 10 days ago. Impressed on the clock so is taken to defy a penalty.
Gunfighter (IRE)
Built on return at the second attempt when narrow winner over C&D 18 days ago. Remains well treated on old form and still early days with in-form yard.
Anthropologist
Steadily found his feet for current yard this year, building on previous promise when scoring from 1 lb higher at Newcastle (7f) in March. Back to that level when 2½ lengths fourth to Gunfighter over C&D last time.
Red Mirage (IRE)
Creditable third at Doncaster on return in March but yet to build on that, running poorly at Chester 6 weeks ago. Headgear back on.
Pursuit Of Truth (IRE)
Narrow winner at Wolverhampton last summer and showed a lot more on second start for Pat Phelan when fourth at Kempton in February. However, changed hands again since (sold cheaply) and well held starting out for this yard at Wolverhampton 16 days ago.
Avatar Jet (IRE)
Has made a bright start for his current yard, scoring here (1m) in April before in-frame efforts next 2 starts. Should give another good account but others look better treated.
Blazing Son
Course scorer who has been well below his best in recent starts, though at least made more of an impact off reduced mark when third over C&D 18 days ago.
Portman Blue
Promise in his qualifying runs and not seen to best effect both starts in handicaps. This should reveal more.
Shamacid (IRE)
Maiden who was in good form in the spring. Lost all chance at the start at Kempton but just respectable fifth over C&D since.
Fan Mail
Can look a bit awkward but did get his head in front here (6f) last autumn. Also went close at Carlisle in May but didn't fully convince back at this distance there 2 weeks ago.
Triggerman (IRE)
Ran with credit on several occasions last year but little promise last 3 outings, including when tailed off back from 6 months off at Chester on yard debut 2 weeks ago.
Wish This
Ended 2025 with 6f win at Newcastle in November but yet to fire in 4 runs this year. Starting to look well handicapped as a result but need to see more.
Finn Ironside
Twice a winner last summer under this rider. Back to that level when third at Doncaster this spring and in better heart than recent form figures suggest since. More than capable off this sort of mark.
Timely Affair
In first-time cheekpieces, doubled his tally here (1m) in April and confirmed that improvement upped in grade when third at Yarmouth and Newmarket. Can go well again.
