ASHDOWN FOREST was capable of fair form on the Flat for Ed Walker and could prove well treated now starting out for Dan Skelton on the back of a breathing operation from a basement hurdling mark. Versatile is capable when in the mood and could emerge as the chief threat, although Alshadhian could take a step forward back hurdling and also enters calculations.

Timeform Comments

Versatile (IRE)
Modest on Flat (stays 1½m) and also refused to race in May. Posted a good third in 2m Southwell handicap hurdle in June and reportedly lost shoe when below par at Worcester since. Could bounce back.
Alshadhian (IRE)
Little show over hurdles but scored over fences at Southwell last June and back with two solid chasing efforts in the frame at Southwell and over 2m here this summer. Can take a step forward reverted to this sphere.
Chicago Storm
Fair winner on Flat for Daisy Hitchins. Pulled up on yard bow in handicap chase at Hexham (2m) last month. Switches to hurdles with something to prove.
American Empire (IRE)
Fair bumper winner. Remains winless in this sphere and tongue strap on for 1st time when a well-held third of 4 in handicap hurdle at Bangor (17f) 28 days ago.
Iolaos Du Mou (FR)
Scored at Warwick (2m) last May. Yet to hit top form this summer, though did too much too soon when sixth of 10 over C&D 17 days ago.
Auntie Maggie (IRE)
C&D winner last June but not the easiest to catch right and was pulled up in handicap chase at Worcester (2m) 37 days ago. More is needed back in this sphere.
Colinski
Modest 1½m Flat winner. Solid third in novice hurdle at Hexham (2m) in June and run best ignored (clipped heels and almost unseated rider) when fifth over C&D on handicap bow since. May still do better.
Ashdown Forest (IRE)
Fair maiden on the Flat for Ed Walker. Has yet to translate that ability to hurdles (for Jedd O'Keeffe) but could fare better after a breathing operation on first run for Dan Skelton. Interesting.
Captain Connor (FR)
Debut third in Huntingdon bumper in November. Little show in 4 starts over hurdles since, taking strong hold in first-time cheekpieces when fading seventh of 8 on handicap debut at Market Rasen (21f) 19 days ago. Could still do better now back down in trip.
Harry Gulliver
Opened his account at Huntingdon in October 2024. Absent since finishing down the field at Taunton the following month. Entitled to need this following 20 months off.
Littletown Lad (IRE)
Fourth in a bumper for Daragh Bourke last April. Well held since over hurdles for current yard, behind when unseated rider in handicap hurdle over C&D 9 days ago.
