Timeform View

This is wide open but Paul Midgley's LETHAL NYMPH looks primed for a bold showing on the back of an eye-catching Pontefract second and can capitalise on a handy-looking mark. Kodiac Thriller heads the list of dangers after a resurgent Ripon fourth, although Dream Deal, Sports Coach and Managing Director can all play a prominent role too.

Timeform Comments

Kodiac Thriller (IRE)
Resumed winning ways at Ripon in April. Back on track in first-time visor with fourth of 9 in handicap there (5f) 19 days ago, doing well given he stumbled badly start. Gone well here previously and ought to be thereabouts.
Lethal Nymph
On a losing run but signalled he is ready to strike again with second of 9 in handicap at Pontefract (5f) last month, just failing having raced wide from outside draw. Weighted to go one better here.
Almaty Star (IRE)
Scored at Yarmouth in April. Headgear removed and got back on track when third of 9 in all-weather handicap at Lingfield (5f) 19 days ago.
Emerald Harmony (IRE)
Gained a first win for current yard at Thirsk in June and has continued in good nick, third of 12 in handicap over C&D 15 days ago. In the shake-up again.
Roberto Caro (IRE)
In good form without winning in the spring but below par last 2 runs, eleventh of 14 in handicap at Ayr (6f) 35 days ago. Bounce back is needed.
King's Call (IRE)
Winless since his debut when trained by Kevin Ryan and more miss than hit for Seb Spencer, blinkered when eleventh in 5f Thirsk handicap last time. Starts out for another new yard with plenty more required.
Mon Na Slieve (IRE)
C&D winner but not proving easy to catch right this season, seventh of 8 in handicap at Beverley (5f) 22 days ago.
Sports Coach (IRE)
Scored at Southwell in March and largely in good form subsequently, second of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (5f) 29 days ago. In the mix once more.
Vince L'amour (IRE)
Scored at Ripon in May but his form has nosedived, last of 9 in handicap there (5f) 19 days ago. This C&D winner has plenty to prove.
Managing Director (IRE)
A fair 5f scorer for Bryan Smart at 2 yrs. Gelded/off 21 months before posting an encouraging fifth of 8 for his new stable in handicap at Beverley (5f) 22 days ago. Not out of things if building on that effort and connections took this last year.
Cayman Tai (IRE)
Doubled his tally at Southwell in May and not disgraced when third of 6 in handicap at Salisbury (5f) 25 days ago. Possibilities off a slipping mark.
Tees Aggregates (IRE)
Resumed winning ways at Catterick in June but only seventh of 9 in handicap at Ripon (5f) 19 days ago. Needs to get back on track and this is tough again.
Ventura Express
Twenty one runs since his last win in 2024 but comes here in decent nick, sixth of 9 in handicap at Pontefract (5f) last time. Gone well here in the past.
Cameley Days
Gained a first win of 2026 at Windsor in May and posted a good third of 5 in handicap at Yarmouth (6f) 29 days ago. Not ruled out.
Harb
Doubled his tally for the year at Carlisle in May and back on song with third of 8 in handicap at Hamilton (5f) a fortnight ago. No forlorn hope eased 1 lb.
Dream Deal
Back to winning ways at Beverley in June and mainly in good nick since, fourth of 10 in handicap there (5f) 5 days ago. Considered.
Bayraat
Veteran who landed 5.5f handicap at Wetherby in June. Backed it up with a good second of 10 at Doncaster 16 days ago but this is tougher from 3 lb out of the weights.
