Timeform View

THE MEAN FIDDLER cost plenty earlier this year and is bred to be sharp enough to make a winning debut. Karl Burke's newcomer Shaqra Queen is also of serious interest, with Onslaught probably making most appeal of those with experience.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Naval Cop could be expected to race prominently. Of those in the front half of the betting forecast, Onslaught might be well positioned in a slowly run affair: Of the better-fancied horses, The Mean Fiddler is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.

Timeform Comments

Bolt Of Blue (FR)
Blue Point colt was twice sold for six figures and seemed to be getting the hang of things late when fifth of 6 in maiden at Yarmouth (5f, firm) on debut 11 days ago. Should improve.
Onslaught (IRE)
Minzaal colt was much improved from his debut (when very green) when third of 6 in maiden (28/1) at Hamilton (5f, good to firm) 15 days ago. Leading player if in same form this time.
Sole Ruler (IRE)
Inns of Court colt showed more than on debut when fourth of 6 in novice at this course (6f, good) 35 days ago, not knocked about. Will have more chance when qualified for nurseries after this.
The Mean Fiddler (IRE)
Foaled March 8. 200,000 gns 2-y-o, No Nay Never colt. Dam smart US 1m/8.5f (Grade 3) winner. Wears tongue strap. Of obvious interest on debut.
Calef (IRE)
180,000 gns Blue Point filly produced her best effort third time up when showing good speed to finish third in Catterick maiden. Didn't do quite as much right when fourth of 6 in maiden at Hamilton (5f, good to firm) 15 days ago, but will have a chance if able to bounce back.
Naval Cop
Naval Crown filly from a smart family the connections know well but was too green to get involved on debut and failed to see the longer trip out when sixth of 8 in novice at York (6f, good to firm, 13/2) 16 days ago. Bit to prove.
Shaqra Queen (IRE)
Foaled February 20. Holy Roman Emperor filly. Sister to useful 1m/9f winner Way To Dubai and half-sister to useful winner up to 6f Lady Youmzain and 7.4f winner Local Girl. Leading yard's newcomers are always respected.
