Timeform View

SALKADAN was just about the pick of these on Flat form and very much appealing as the type to make his mark over hurdles for the red-hot Skelton yard, he shades preference over easy Market Rasen scorer Vietnorm. Zooter and Keep Under Wraps complete the shortlist.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

This could develop into a sprint for home, and Us Officer could be well placed to capitalise: Of the better-fancied horses, Keep Under Wraps is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.

Timeform Comments

Vietnorm (IRE)
Improved for a step up in trip when landing pair of 1¼m Flat handicaps in May and continued good work when successful on hurdles bow at Market Rasen in June. Had excuses when fifth back on Flat at Ripon since and he's very much of interest back jumping as yard continues in excellent heart.
Al Za'ama (IRE)
Modest maiden on Flat for Andrew Balding who was well held on return from 5 months off (equipped with a tongue strap) when last of 8 in a Southwell maiden (11f) in April. Betting can guide now hurdling for new stable.
Hello Garda (IRE)
Modest maiden up to 1¼m on the Flat who finished well held starting out over hurdles when third in a Stratford juvenile (2m) earlier this month. Well below best back on the level at Nottingham since.
Keep Under Wraps
Son of Massaat who didn't go unsupported but ran out 2 from home at Newton Abbot (17f) 33 days ago. Hard to know what he would have achieved there and gelded subsequently. One to note for market confidence again.
Nicolai
Failed to better poor form in 5 starts for Jack Channon at up to 1m (visored final 2 starts) and looks best watched now hurdling in first-time cheekpieces.
Salkadan
Ulysses half-brother to fair 2m hurdle winner Rumi. Fair himself on the Flat, confirming previous promise when opening his account in handicap at Haydock (11.6f) in May. Excuses at Ffos Las next time and he's clearly very interesting now hurdling for red-hot yard following a breathing operation.
Us Officer
Modest maiden on Flat who showed some aptitude for hurdling when second of 5 at Newton Abbot (17f) 7 days ago. Possible he can build on that.
Zooter
Fair maiden on the Flat (stays 1¼m) who hasn't been at his best in recent starts. However, yard boast a healthy strike rate with runners in this sphere and booking of Sean Bowen rates an obvious plus. One to monitor closely in the betting.
Adba (FR)
Starspangledbanner filly. Dam half-sister to fairly useful hurdler (17f winner) Arslan. Modest form on Flat (stays 8.5f) for Ralph Beckett and she's best guided by the betting now hurdling for new stable.
