Down markedly in class and from a career-low mark this could be the day KELPIE GREY can end his losing run. Great Profit and last week's C&D winner Cotai Starlight are a couple of the other likely players.

Timeform Comments

Mr Cool (IRE)
Hasn't won for over a year but went close at Carlisle at the start of the month and ran respectably in a better race at Pontefract 10 days ago.
Kelpie Grey
Winless since completing a hat-trick in spring 2024 but his mark has dropped significantly as a result and he caught the eye when a never-nearer sixth over C&D (rider suspended for 14 days after) last month. Never a threat in strong 0-85 here last time but this is much easier.
Water Of Leith (IRE)
Gained deserved success at Wolverhampton (6f) in March and has continued in good nick, sixth of 8 over C&D a fortnight ago. 1 of 4 runners for the stable, the jockey bookings suggesting he's down the pecking order.
Great Profit (IRE)
Much improved sent handicapping by new yard in recent weeks, still looking a little rough around the edges as he went down to an in-form rival at Hamilton last time. Up 3 lb but likely to figure again back up in trip.
Cotai Starlight (IRE)
Much improved back over 6f as she opened her account in C&D handicap last week. Just the type her trainer excels with and can go well again under a penalty.
Joshuas Dream
Only beaten a head by now-useful sort in Hamilton maiden in 2024 but following a long absence it's been uninspiring stuff in handicaps in the last 10 months. Should strip fitter for his return here 3 weeks ago at least.
Falcon Queen (IRE)
Bred to be useful but it's been a low-key start in handicaps for current connections. Takes a drop in class now.
Tap Dancer
A winner over much further for Marcus Tregoning at 2 yrs. Yet to fully fire for new yard here this season, again fading having cut out the running last time. Now has her first go sprinting.
Lanarra (IRE)
Opened her account at Newcastle (6f) in October and returned with good placed efforts in 6f handicaps at Catterick and Carlisle. Not so good over 7f here last week and work to do back in trip.
