SPACEMAN did well to win over 5f last time and should relish 7f on handicap debut so he's taken to prove too good for mainly older rivals. Chalk Mountain returns to the all-weather where he's a C&D winner and should be a player, while Ash Wednesday is back down to a good mark and also goes well here.

Timeform Comments

Storm Free
Not stood much racing and last won in November. Off 6 months prior to solid effort at Newmarket on return but not kicked on from that, including tried in cheekpieces last time. Headgear now discarded and is edging back down to last winning mark. Capable if bouncing back returned to all-weather.
Breakdancer (IRE)
Won here over 1m last summer and produced largely creditable efforts early this year. Only eighth of 10 at Kempton 25 days ago but that run can be overlooked, wide throughout from outside stall after 4 months off. Should trip fitter for that outing and now drops back to 7f.
Chalk Mountain
Better on all-weather and won at Kempton in May. Good sixth of 14 at that track 28 days ago, meeting trouble when going well, but didn't fire on turf over 1m earlier this month. Likely to give his running returned to this surface and dropped back to ideal trip.
City Of Kings
Won a maiden at Ascot in 2022 but showed nothing starting out for this yard after 3 years off last month. Now makes all-weather debut.
Bloodsweatandtyres
Won a novice at Newcastle over 7f in November but has struggled since, though was out of depth in Group 3 last time. First-time cheekpieces and back up in trip but he's hard to weigh up.
Asteverdi
Shaped encouragingly on debut for current yard in April and returned to that level when third of 9 in a handicap at Goodwood in June. Back down to 7f and she's yet to prove herself on all-weather but she surely won't be too much longer in winning for this stable.
Tropez Power (IRE)
Has gone 24 runs without winning and is operating below best at present, but hasn't run on all-weather since joining this yard and should be suited by the return to a track where he's won 3 times.
Peter The Wolf
Won a maiden at Chepstow over 6f in September but ran badly at Carlisle dropped to 5f in June. Now back up in trip and hard to know what to expect.
Ash Wednesday
Was coming into form earlier this year with a C&D second in March and may have been unsuited by step up to 1m last time. Successful twice over C&D before, including from 2 lb higher, so he is one to take seriously.
Spaceman (IRE)
Strong form when runner-up last year and progressed nicely when getting off the mark over 5f at Wolverhampton last month, beating a subsequent winner despite the trip looking on the short side for him. Now steps up to 7f for handicap debut and looks a real threat to more exposed rivals.
Lucky Luna (IRE)
Off the mark when winning a 13-runner maiden on heavy going at Salisbury 48 days ago. Steps into handicap company for the first time and faces her first start on the all-weather with further progress required.
Exotic Baby
Course winner last year but no progress in 2026 and struggled on turf last time. Returns to all-weather with cheekpieces removed and looks best opposed.
