Can Happen (IRE)
In first-time tongue strap, made the perfect start for new connections when winning 15-runner handicap at Ballinrobe by 1½ lengths from Mary's Pride in May. Ran well when second on the Flat since and, though 6 lb rise makes life harder in this sphere, he suddenly has an unexposed look to him.
Drombane (IRE)
Has finished in the frame on all 3 starts over hurdles but hasn't always impressed, his second to Le Roi du Livet in a maiden at Tramore in May representing a significant step forward in terms of his jumping and his learning to settle. Capable of better if following similar trend on handicap bow.
Let's Go La Fichad (FR)
Left previous efforts under Rules well behind when winning 16-runner maiden at Sligo in June by a head from Koliath de Couely. That form has worked out well but will ideally be suited by further, so likely to need a good test at this trip.
Allo Al Khawaneej
Kilbeggan maiden winner in 2025 who has been a bit and miss since but took a step back in the right direction when 2 lengths fourth of 15 to Can Happen in handicap at Ballinrobe last time. Cheekpieces back on.
Bruant
Having been backed at longish odds, he benefitted from a patient ride when landing a second Downpatrick victory in May. Not so good on the level since and 4 lb rise to contend with back hurdling. Likely to need plenty of luck in running if usual patient tactics are to be employed.
Hopeful Hero (IRE)
Finished third behind Let's Go La Fichad at Sligo in June before getting off the mark in a similar event at Bellewstown 23 days ago, beating Whats New by 5 lengths. Jumps and travels well, which will stand him in good stead at this course, and looks open to further progress on handicap debut.
Timurshah (IRE)
Has proved a revelation since joining current connections, winning handicaps on last 2 starts, beating Glin Road Boy by 4 lengths in 16-runner event at Sligo on latest. Has copped a 16 lb rise though, and a good deal more progress needed if he's to feature in this.
Claude (IRE)
Successful for Joseph Patrick O'Brien at Wexford on hurdling debut. Has largely struggled for current connections but fared better under a positive ride when 12 lengths third of 15 to Lips Freedom in handicap at Killarney last time.
In The Minus (IRE)
Won a juvenile maiden hurdle at this course in October but has struggled for form since, including back on the Flat. Makes handicap hurdle debut.
Westoftignes (IRE)
Improved when second at Gowran in February on his final start for Adrian Murray and went one better on sole outing for John McConnell at Wexford the following month. Jumped and travelled well there, so clearly interesting on debut for new yard, but needs to prove as effective away from the mud.
Dairy Force (IRE)
Runner-up 4 times from last 6 starts, including on last 2, chasing home Wolf Prince in handicap at Sligo on latest. Claims if reproducing best form here but his jumping remains a cause for concern in races as competitive as this.
Quint Major (IRE)
Remains a maiden over hurdles. Best effort last season when fourth of 11 in handicap at Limerick in October, faring best of those held up. Probably needed run when down the field on Flat return last month.
Sestini
Fair Flat winner in France and encouragement when in the frame on all 3 starts in maiden hurdles, 5¼ lengths third of 14 to Like An Ocean at Roscommon 3 weeks ago. Looks the type to come into his own now tackling a handicap and interesting if attracting support.
Woodstream Lad (IRE)
Won handicap at Downpatrick last summer but hasn't managed to repeat that level of form since, including over fences and on all 3 outings this season. Makes debut for new yard and been given a chance by the handicapper.
Desert Friend (IRE)
Has had a good year on the level, scoring twice. Winning hurdler/chaser on a career-low mark in this sphere.
Inchiquin Star (IRE)
Below form on the level last time but had previously shaped encouragingly in mares handicap hurdle at Listowel for new yard. On a handy mark if able to build on that, with excellent-value conditional booked for good measure. On the shortlist.
Mart Lane (IRE)
Progressive form, taking another step forward when 8½ lengths fourth of 21 to Jet To Monte Carlo in novice handicap at Fairyhouse in April. Likely has more still to offer and has to be high on the shortlist with that in mind.
Soldante (IRE)
Continued a theme of progress over fences when winning 14-runner handicap at Roscommon in June by 5 lengths from Party President. Yard remains in good form and potentially very well treated now reverting to hurdling.
Whats New (IRE)
Unreliable type but this maiden hurdler is capable of fair form on his day. Runner-up in maidens at Sligo and Bellewstown earlier in the month and still very much in the mix when unseating at the last in similar event at Ballinrobe 6 days ago. Tackling just his second handicap in this sphere.
Searcog (IRE)
Modest Flat winner who shaped with some encouragement in maiden hurdles but proved a disappointment on handicap hurdle debut. Ran respectably on Flat last time but plenty to prove now back over hurdles.
Figero (IRE)
Proved a totally different proposition back under less testing conditions when winning 2m Kilbeggan maiden hurdle in May. Struggled from stiff-looking mark on handicap debut next time and well held on the level last week. RESERVE.
Brosna Town (IRE)
Fair Flat winner for Dermot Weld who posted best effort in maiden hurdles when 1¼ lengths second of 7 to Little Lady Rock at Market Rasen last time. Back down in trip and fitted with cheekpieces now switching to handicap hurdles. RESERVE.
Metamorpheus (IRE)
In excellent heart for current yard this year, winning a Sligo handicap on the Flat before chasing home Malbay Madness on return to hurdles at Kilbeggan in May. Better than result when fourth in Downpatrick handicap hurdle and in extended 1½m Limerick handicap back on the Flat since. RESERVE.
