In the hope this doesn't come too soon 5 days on from Yarmouth for DISTINCT SPIRIT (very lightly raced in his career) he should take plenty of beating at this sort of level. Flyta is the obvious danger.

Timeform Comments

Distinct Spirit
Stood little racing since debut win at Salisbury in July 2024, though made a perfectly satisfactory return after 9 months off when third at Newbury at the beginning of the month. Much tighter in the betting but merely achieved same position at Yarmouth 5 days ago. This looks a weaker race.
Name The Day
Confirmed debut promise at second time of asking when scoring with something to spare in a maiden at Chepstow (7f, good to firm) at the beginning of the month. Reportedly lost her action on handicap debut 11 days ago and a tongue tie is quickly employed.
Decalogue (USA)
Showed ability on both starts as a juvenile but well held on 7f Kempton reappearance in May. Set a stiff task but much more like it when fourth on handicap debut at Sandown on Friday.
Flyta (IRE)
Improved markedly when runner-up on turf debut at Windsor (1m) and well ridden in a tactical affair when going one place better over C&D a month ago. 3 lb rise shouldn't prevent a bold follow-up bid.
Sofian (IRE)
Caused a surprise when winning over C&D last summer. Probably needed the run on reappearance and saddle slipped last time, so this should be a better guide as to his current well-being.
