Timeform View

Charlie Appleby has a 42% strike-rate with his 2-y-os this year so NATIONAL HONOUR is taken to make a winning debut, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Hayate is another newcomer who makes obvious appeal, while Sexy Chick failed to stay 7f at the July Meeting and was only just touched off on her C&D debut prior to that.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Sexy Chick could be expected to race prominently. Of those in the front half of the betting forecast, Louis The Fifth might be well positioned in a slowly run affair: Of the better-fancied horses, Hayate is most likely to be ridden furthest from the pace.

Timeform Comments

Blue Victory (IRE)
Foaled May 21. Blue Point colt. Closely related to 3 winners, including smart 5f-7f winner Good Effort and 2-y-o 6f winner Crown of Light. Dam unraced. The betting should help guide to expectations with this one.
Cloud Summit (IRE)
Failed to build on debut when sixth of 9 in novice at Lingfield (7f, all-weather) 25 days ago. Might be more one for handicaps after this.
Hayate (IRE)
Foaled February 8. 230,000 gns breeze-up purchase by Mehmas colt. Dam lightly-raced half-sister to smart winner up to 7f Burnt Sugar out of useful winner up to 6f (2-y-o 5f winner) Lady Livius. A likely type.
Louis The Fifth (IRE)
Stepped up on debut when 4 lengths second of 5 in maiden at Ffos Las (6f, good to firm) 17 days ago. May do better again.
National Honour (IRE)
Foaled March 26. €180,000 Wootton Bassett colt. Dam, useful French 1¼m-11.4f winner, half-sister to very smart 5f/6f winner Soffia. The stable's 2-y-os are in excellent form.
Happy Daisy (IRE)
Foaled April 30. 80,000 gns Gleneagles filly. Closely related to useful winner up to 7f Chartwell House and half-sister to several winners, including useful 2-y-o 5f winner Star Anthem. Probably best watched unless the betting speaks in his favour.
Sexy Chick
Havana Grey filly who was narrowly denied in a 3-runner race on her C&D debut and shaped as if stretched by 7f when 9 lengths fifth back here at the July Meeting. Should make more of an impact back at 6f.
