Timeform View

ANGEL'S SHARE finds herself 3 lb below the mark she defied when a wide-margin winner on all-weather last summer and, having posted easily her most encouraging effort this year at Yarmouth 23 days ago, she could be worth chancing to get back to winning ways. Kit Gabriel back at 7f from a handy mark and Southwell scorer Gunfighter are others high on the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Al Muqdad
C&D winner who is on a losing run but he comes here in good form, running on for third in 6-runner Doncaster handicap (7f) 8 days ago. Possibilities in a switch of headgear.
Gunfighter (IRE)
Built on return at the second attempt when narrow winner at Southwell (7f) 26 days ago. Remains well treated on old form and still early days with in-form yard, so well worth a second look from a handy draw.
Kit Gabriel (IRE)
Course winner again ran well when just touched off in a deeper handicap at Kempton (7f) in May. Disappointed next time but took a step back in right direction when sixth over an extended mile here 24 days ago. Possibilities back at 7f from what rates a handy mark.
Merry
Zoustar filly who has shaped with promise all 3 starts in all-weather novice/maidens to date, appearing stretched by the step up to 1m when fifth on qualifying run at Kempton in April. Likely type to do better now attentions switch to handicaps.
Ballybunion (IRE)
Fair form as a 2-y-o, twice finishing runner-up, and he can easily have a line put through reappearance effort at Ascot when poorly placed in a higher grade than this for handicap debut. Still unexposed returning from another 84 days off/breathing operation.
Generous Rascal
Winner of a 6f Kempton novice last autumn for Oliver Cole. Creditable third at Ripon on yard debut in April but exploits have been rather mixed in handful of starts since. Blinkers now reached for returned to 7f.
Lessay (IRE)
Displayed better signs when runner up here in May and confirmed promise of that effort at second attempt when resuming winning ways over C&D 33 days ago, forging clear. Raised 5 lb on the back of that and tricky draw to contend with here.
Angels' Share
Wide margin winner on final 2 all-weather runs last summer and fared better than previously on turf this year when fifth at Yarmouth (7f, firm) 23 days ago. Potentially more interesting back on all-weather and now 3 lb below last winning mark, so well worth a look.
Quick Quasar (IRE)
Put it all together to get off the mark under an aggressive front-running ride at Kempton (7f) in March. However, hasn't looked entirely straightforward in 2 runs since and application of sterner headgear needs to have positive effect here.
Espanita (IRE)
Landed a C&D maiden on second start in March. Hasn't gone forward since, albeit proving too free in race not run to suit when sixth of 12 in an 8.6f handicap here 25 days ago. First-time hood reached for now.
Piazza
Steadily progressive in turf maidens last summer. Encouraging fifth on return at Kempton (7f) in June and best excused latest run given her track position in a messy race when seventh at Epsom (7f) 2 weeks ago. Too soon to write off but draw in 12 not ideal.
Uniter
Failed to progress for Andrew Balding and having shaped as if better for the run on stable debut at Kempton in April, she went as if amiss when pulled up over 6f here in May. Passed over.
