Timeform View

GHISA caught the eye on her handicap debut/return at Southwell last time and looks the one to be with. Paris Babe could be interesting dropped in class, with Bella Bisbee and Carnival of Light others to consider in a competitive race.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Carnival Of Light shouldn’t be inconvenienced if looking to adopt a prominent position: Ghisa might not benefit from being ridden as far back as usual for all the gallop is likely to be a reasonable one.

Timeform Comments

Paris Babe (FR)
Useful ex-French winner. Wasn't seen to best effect when fifth on All-Weather Finals Day at Newcastle in April. Flying too high in listed company on turf when last seen 10 weeks ago. Entitled to do better with sights lowered.
Carnival Of Light
Clearly a late bloomer (cheap purchase given her pedigree), and she posted a much-improved effort to get off the mark over C&D last time. Weighted to give another good account on handicap debut.
Orchid (IRE)
Low-mileage 4-y-o. Back on the all-weather (form figures of 211) for first time since completing a double in a 6f course handicap last spring. Underlined she's far from straightforward with a head-strong display at Carlisle in late May, though.
Tarot
Fairly useful filly who made all in 6f Kempton novice last October. Hasn't looked obviously well treated in a couple of handicap starts this season. Does at least benefit from drop back down in grade.
Callahan
Fairly useful winner of Kempton novice at third time of asking last October. Best not judged too harshly on her couple of starts in Meydan over the winter. Should find this a more realistic assignment on handicap bow, provided excellent yard has her ready to roll.
Bella Bisbee
5-y-o mare has stood plenty of racing and looked as good as ever when nearly landing a third 7f handicap success of the year at Lingfield last time. Repeat performance should see her go close again.
Inside Story (IRE)
Opened her account at third time of asking at Southwell last September. Refused to settle when only beaten 2¾ lengths in this grade at Lingfield in May. Did prove more tractable when below form (again slowly away) back on turf last time. Capable if things fall right on all-weather return.
Lili Marleen (GER)
Produced a fair effort when winning on the all-weather at Chantilly in December for Waldemar Hickst. Clearly wasn't 100% on stable debut/return from 11 weeks off at Newmarket (6f) earlier this month.
Ghisa (IRE)
Course winner on debut (6f) before following up at Southwell (7f) for previous yard last autumn. Looks to be back on the up for current stable, again not getting the rub of the green when third on handicap bow/return at Southwell (6f) last month. May well resume winning ways.
