MUSICAL SOLDIER found some improvement for the fitting of first-time cheekpieces when doubling his tally at Wolverhampton 11 days ago and he looks to hold sound claims of following up from a 5 lb higher mark back on turf. The danger could be fellow 3-y-o Creciente, who was a convincing winner of a C&D classified event 10 days ago and can hold her own back in a handicap.

Timeform Comments

Musical Soldier (IRE)
Successful twice at Wolverhampton this season, latest in 9-runner handicap by ¾ length from Oh So Perfect just last week in first-time cheekpieces, suited by way race developed. 5 lb higher for that success and the tongue tie goes back on. Good claims again.
Fulford Cross
Narrowly off the mark on all-weather here (7f) in December. However, exploits mixed since, again not good at the start when fifth behind Beau Jardine in a C&D handicap (heavy) in June.
Mighty Ruler (IRE)
Broke his duck here (7f, all-weather) in January and never-nearer third at the same course (6f) at the end of April. Excuses on penultimate start but he has little form on turf and never figured when fifth at Brighton (7f) 25 days ago.
Jackson Street (IRE)
Ended a lengthy losing run on all-weather here (7f) in December. Hasn't had things go his way more recently, never threatening having been set plenty to do when fourth at Brighton (7f) on latest outing in June. Not ruled out for all he's an infrequent winner.
Creciente
3-y-o filly who capitalised on the drop into classified company when shedding maiden tag over C&D 10 days ago, forced to switch twice but decisively on top at the finish. Can hold her own back in a handicap.
Beau Jardine (IRE)
Snapped a losing run on testing ground over C&D in June. Well beaten over 1m at Kempton next time but fared better without any excuses when fourth at Salisbury (7f) 11 days ago. Each-way claims.
Twitch (NZ)
NON RUNNER.
Saturday Again
Achieved little in trio of starts last year and she failed to build on her encouraging reappearance fifth on all-weather here, when well held ninth on handicap debut at Kempton (7f) in February. Needs to step up back from a break with the hood retained.
