Timeform View

JUKEBOX JOHNNY can take a step forward from his encouraging chasing debut and get off the mark for his top connections. Journey So Far made a winning start for his new owner but may have to settle for second best here, while Golden Temple can maintain his recent run of good form.

Timeform Comments

Soldante (IRE)
Won over fences at Roscommon by 5 lengths from Party President in June. 15/2, very good third of 20 in handicap hurdle at this course (17f, good to soft) 6 days ago. Reverts back to chasing after an 8 lb rise for Roscommon.
Ira Hayes (IRE)
Most fortunate to come out on top in 12-runner beginners chase at Tramore (2¾m) in April, held when left in front 2 out. Tailed off at Perth at the beginning of June and others more persuasive
Journey So Far (IRE)
Low-mileage 6-y-o who switched to a powerful owner prior to opening his account in 10-runner beginners chase at Tramore (2¾m, good, 11/4) in May by 13 lengths from A Snow White Park, unchallenged. Has to be taken seriously back in a handicap.
Kings Jet (IRE)
Surprise winner on Rules debut in maiden hunter at Down Royal in May but has failed to complete on 3 of his 4 starts since. Hard to make a case for.
Lawful Ruler (IRE)
Won 3m Cork maiden hunter in April, showing a willing attitude (may not have collected had the favourite avoided error). 100/1, pulled up in novice chase at Wexford (19f, good to soft) in June. Questions to answer on handicap debut.
Sammy Smart
Took quite well to chasing last season, winning handicap at Punchestown. Shaped a bit better than being pulled up suggests at Wexford in June with tack issue. Isn't the most fluent of chasers but interesting to see if he can step up on that effort.
Golden Temple (IRE)
Ended lengthy losing run in handicap chase at Kilbeggan in July. Backed that up when second in handicap hurdle at this course (2¾m, good to soft) 4 days ago. Can go well again back over fences.
Prince Palace (FR)
Has gone the wrong way since novice days and hasn't fared any better since joining current connections. Not easy to make a case for.
Inchidaly Copper (IRE)
Fair chaser. Has some creditable efforts to his name over hurdles since last run over fences, winning at Killarney in October. Stepped up on reappearance when third of 14 in handicap hurdle at that course (2½m, good to soft) 17 days ago. Back chasing with the blinkers refitted.
Le Grand Vert (FR)
Scored at Ayr in February and then at Punchestown in June. Ran another cracker when second at Cartmel just under 3 weeks later. Shaped as if amiss back hurdling at Sligo when last seen. May do better back over fences.
Drop A Threat (IRE)
Point winner but maiden under Rules and has become disappointing on the whole.
Noble Talent (IRE)
One-time fairly useful sort over fences but badly out of sorts of late, including over hurdles. Handicapper has given him some help but he's hard to make a case for.
Riggs (IRE)
Won back-to-back chases in May 2025. Pulled up in handicap at Wexford (23f, good to soft) 33 days ago. Doesn't look the most reliable at present and the blinkers go back on.
Jukebox Johnny (IRE)
Maiden hurdler who took well to fences when second of 11 in handicap at Limerick (23f, good) on chasing debut in May. Has to enter calculations on the back of that.
Gorthill (FR)
Hunter chase winner who has run well under Rules on occasion. 11/1, first run since leaving Mrs Caroline McCaldin when fifth of 8 in similar event at Downpatrick (29f, good to soft) in May. This looks a difficult ask back in a handicap.
Saunton Surf (IRE)
Maiden hurdler but has taken well to chasing, runner-up at Downpatrick on debut over fences in May before landing a 3m beginners chase there the following month. Has each-way claims with the cheekpieces back on.
Smallcraftwarning (IRE)
Fourteen runs since last win in 2025. Made the frame twice from last 4 starts over hurdles, latest when fourth of 10 in handicap at Killarney (2½m, good to soft) 17 days ago. Back chasing and can go well again.
Mistyburn (IRE)
Landed 16-runner handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan in April, albeit looking a fortunate winner (left in front last). Failed to translate that form back over fences next time and was again a shade below his best reverted to hurdling at Roscommon at the beginning of July. This is tougher.
