BLOOD DESTINY tends to operate at a higher level and, though he hasn’t shown much in handicaps previously, his class should count for plenty in a race of this nature. He gets the vote, with Le Nez Creux feared most after an encouraging stable debut at Ayr and Drumgill also respected from a good mark.

Timeform Comments

Blood Destiny (FR)
Very smart chaser at best but inconsistent. Ran well when 9 lengths second of 6 to Jesse Evans at Listowel last time, upsides when bad mistake last. Pulled up both previous handicap starts off similar marks, but this represents a drop in grade.
Coming Up Easy (IRE)
Completed a hat-trick when landing a 13-runner listed handicap at Killarney last season, but ran poorly next 2 starts, shaping as if amiss when last seen in April. Goes well fresh but profile is all or nothing.
Runcok (FR)
Useful chaser at his best for Willie Mullins but lost his way after winning a Tipperary maiden last season and went with no encouragement on debut for this yard in handicap hurdle at Ballinrobe in May. Makes handicap debut with hood back on.
Le Nez Creux (FR)
Winner over hurdles and dual winner over fences for Francois Nicolle in France before joining current connections for €320,000. Shaped encouragingly on stable debut when 11 lengths second of 7 to Moudan in handicap at Ayr in May. One to consider back from a break.
Path D'oroux (FR)
Hasn't won since the autumn of 2024 and didn't shape as though ready to capitalise on his falling mark when well beaten in handicap chase at Punchestown in April. Ran well on the Flat last month but held over hurdles here on Saturday.
The Banger Doyle (IRE)
Useful chaser at his best but without a win since autumn 2024. Turned in best effort for some time when 8½ lengths second of 9 to Femme Magnifique at Killarney 16 days ago. Dropped another 1 lb on the back of that and entitled to be thereabouts if giving his running.
Drumgill (IRE)
Turned in best effort this season when 14 lengths fourth of 9 to Femme Magnifique at Killarney 16 days ago, likely to have been closer but for mistake 2 out. On a good mark if able to build on that with benefit of an excellent-value 5 lb conditional.
Lisleigh Lad (IRE)
Confirmed himself an improved performer when winning 10-runner 19.5f handicap at Wexford last month by 3½ lengths from Nouvotic. Up 7 lb for that success but not easily dismissed given current rich vein of form.
War Correspondent (IRE)
Untrustworthy sort who stepped up on recent stable debut when 3 lengths third of 6 to Emerald Time at Uttoxeter 7 days ago. Back over fences here but just as likely to run poorly as he is to back his previous effort up. Races from 1 lb out of the handicap.
Itsalladream (IRE)
Fairly useful chaser who won novice at Roscommon last summer and gave it a good go under a change of tactics when 6 lengths fourth of 10 to Lisleigh Lad on handicap chase debut at Wexford last time. Claims of being in the frame again despite racing from 2 lb out of the handicap.
Watch The Weather
Won a pair of handicap chases in 2024 and turned in best effort since when second in 2½m handicap hurdle at Killarney in May. One paced latter stages when 12½ lengths fifth of 10 to Lisleigh Lad in handicap chase at Wexford last time. Races from 3 lb out of the weights.
Bythesametoken (IRE)
Well prepared to make a successful reappearance at Listowel last season. Left poorly placed when down the field in veterans race at Wexford when last seen in April. Has gone well fresh but looks up against here from 6 lb out of the handicap.
