PAPA DON'T PREACH is far from a regular scorer but arrives here below his last winning mark and made a solid return from 10 weeks off when third at Doncaster 2 weeks ago. He can confirm the promise of that run and gain a first success on turf under Billy Loughnane. Dragon God looks the main threat, ahead of Mart.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Papa Don't Preach traded at a low of 3.65 and Betfair SP of 3.70 when losing last time, a race in which it led.

Timeform Comments

Papa Don't Preach (IRE)
Gained a deserved win at Wolverhampton (5f) in December. Gone close on several occasions on turf since and made a solid return from 10 weeks off when third at Doncaster (5f, firm) 2 weeks ago. Below last winning mark and very interesting with Billy Loughnane an eye-catching booking.
Mart
On a losing run but gave hope he can buck that trend when third over 6f here in June. Only sixth in a better race next time but far from disgraced when fourth of 7 in handicap back here (1m) last month. Tongue strap goes on now starting out for new yard and the betting can guide.
Dragon God
Headstrong type who bounced back to form when second of 6 in handicap at Chepstow (5f) in June. Not seen to best effect having met with trouble when third over same C&D 17 days ago and he's an interesting runner with booking of Tom Marquand an obvious plus.
Antiphon (IRE)
Losing run stretches back well over 2 years but he did post easily his most encouraging effort of the present campaign when third at Nottingham (5f) 16 days ago, leading until final 1f and no extra only late on. Task is to back that up.
Regal Guest (IRE)
Lightly raced and has achieved nothing in 4 handicaps this season, dropping away over 2f out tackling 1m here latest. Plenty to prove down significantly in trip with cheekpieces now discarded.
Nad Alshiba Snow (IRE)
Long-standing maiden who fared no better than previously this season eased in grade in classified company at Wolverhampton (5f) in June. Had breathing operation since but still hard to fancy.
Surprise Again (IRE)
Down the field all 4 starts during a light 2025 campaign and offered little after 8 months off at Nottingham (6f) in June. Tongue strap goes on.
