A lower draw would be preferable for DANCE IN THE STORM but she won from stall 11 over C&D in May and has shaped like a very well-handicapped horse since so could be the way to go. The sole 3-y-o in the field Monarch's Gold is a big player, while course specialist Roman Dragon has to be on the shortlist.

Won this race last year from a 10 lb lower mark and returned this season with a close fourth in a listed race at Wolverhampton in March. Has been below form on last 3 outings and this mark makes things tricky for him.
The Strikin Viking (IRE)
Useful gelding who landed Group 3 at Baden-Baden (6f) last summer. Below form since, failing to beat a single rival on his last 2 runs. Arrives with questions to answer.
Roman Dragon
A course specialist who landed the listed race on this card last year and recorded his latest success over 5f here in May. Has had his share of excuses since and makes the shortlist once more with the cheekpieces back on.
Power Fizz (IRE)
Progressed in the early stages of last year and defied a 10-month absence in good style at Newcastle in March. Failed to make an impact after receiving an early bump there on next start in June. Not out of things if bouncing back but draw could have been kinder.
Dance In The Storm
Progressive in 2025 and took another step forward after 7 months off when landing 13-runner C&D handicap in May from stall 11. Hasn't had much luck with the draw on either outing since, shaping very well in the Buckingham Palace. Gets the widest stall here too but has to be taken very seriously.
Khafiz (IRE)
Twice a winner in novice company over 7f for Roger Varian before going the wrong way for Ed Bethell after making a promising start this season at Haydock. Made the frame at York on yard debut last time though raced freely. Remains to be seen which way he goes from that.
The Angel King
Dual winner in France for Francis-Henri Graffard. Promise at the second time of asking for new yard when 2½ lengths sixth here in May, having hopeless task from position. Best not judged on latest outing at Epsom and now needs to bounce back.
Korker (IRE)
Losing run continues to mount up, though ran his best race this season when fourth of 14 in handicap at Newcastle (7f) 36 days ago, needing lesser test. A high draw makes things tricky but the handicapper has relented a little.
Monarch's Gold
The sole 3-y-o in the field. Won a pair of novices on the all-weather last season and ran a fine second here in May when beaten a neck by the progressive McMurray. Quickly back on track when third of 5 in handicap at Hamilton (8.3f, firm) 17 days ago. Could be firmly in the mix under 7 lb claimer.
Miami Matrix (IRE)
Won 3 times last year, including twice at this course, and has also made the frame twice from 3 starts round here this season. Back up in grade and may find a few too strong despite a plum draw.
