Timeform View

A case of quantity over quality in this fillies maiden. NAUTIC STAR has shown enough to land a race of this nature and can finally open her account. The Joseph O'Brien pair Never The Same and newcomer Acula must be taken seriously, with Emiza another debutant to monitor in the market

Timeform Comments

Dark Willow (IRE)
Limited performer who is making up the numbers here after 8 months off.
Zarenakarena (IRE)
€4,000 foal, Ribchester filly. Half-sister to several winners, including 1¼m winner Starlight Dream and 10.5f/10.7f winner Areana. Dam Italian 1m-11f winner. Market best guide on belated debut.
Zesty Belle (IRE)
Ran to just a modest level in 2 Dundalk maidens last November. Makes turf debut on return and is probably one for handicaps.
Acula (IRE)
Sea The Stars filly. Half-sister to smart 9.4f-11f winner Starford and 1m-11f winner Jack Sparowe. Dam winner up to 1½m (2-y-o 7.3f winner). Has plenty of stamina in her pedigree but is worth a second look on debut for top yard.
Emiza (FR)
Blue Point filly. Closely related to useful 1m winner Embiran and half-sister to 3 winners, including 1m-1¼m winner Elamaz and 2-y-o 1m winner Emaniya, both useful. Yard's newcomers always need respecting.
Estrallita (IRE)
€100,000 foal, Lope De Vega filly. Half-sister to 1½m winner Ledecky. Dam, 1m winner who stayed 1½m, closely related to useful 11f-15f winner Fortunino. Quite a costly filly and may be one for time and distance.
Mardi Gras Queen (USA)
Charlatan filly. Sixth of 11 in maiden at Cork (7f, heavy, 16/1) on debut in April, slowly away. Probably one for later on.
My Girl Jersie (IRE)
Failed to even hint at ability in 3 maidens last year.
Nautic Star (IRE)
Lightly-raced filly who has made the places on all 3 starts this season, latest when third of 11 in maiden at the Curragh (7f, good to firm) 16 days ago. One of the leading players.
Never The Same (IRE)
Twice-raced filly. Stepped up on debut effort when fourth of 11 in maiden (22/1) at the Curragh (7f, good to firm) 16 days ago (Nautic Star in third). Stable having good spell and can go well again.
Orellana (IRE)
€13,000 yearling, Bungle Inthejungle filly. Dam, third at 7f/1m, half-sister to 6f-1½m winner Harmless.
Shelton Spring (IRE)
Arizona filly. Twelfth of 14 in maiden (300/1) at Galway (7f, good to soft) on debut 6 days ago, very slowly away.
Sioux The Boss (IRE)
€70,000 Sioux Nation filly. 25/1, little encouragement when twelfth of 14 in maiden at Down Royal (7f, good) on debut in May. Cheekpieces go on here.
Sweetie Too (IRE)
Dawn Approach filly. Little impact when well held in maiden (66/1) at Gowran (1m, good) on debut in June.
Terra Di Siena (IRE)
€62,000 yearling, Churchill filly. Showed little when thirteenth of 14 in maiden at Gowran (9.5f, good to soft) on debut in June.
Venosa (USA)
Showed fairly useful form as a juvenile but has long been used a pacemaker. Drops back into a maiden but appeals as vulnerable for win purposes.
Whatsin The Stars (IRE)
€22,000 yearling, Starman filly. 125/1 and with cheekpieces on, eleventh of 13 in maiden at Gowran (1m, good to firm) on debut 9 days ago, always behind.
Xirivella (IRE)
€23,000 foal. Gleneagles filly. Sixth of 8 in C&D maiden (16/1, good) on debut 30 days ago. Has the first-time tongue strap on and appeals as one for the longer term.
