VENETIAN LION proved a different proposition sent handicapping when finishing runner-up at Southwell last week and with further progress on the cards, William Haggas' 3-y-o is expected to take some stopping if translating that form back to turf. Theme Park and Straight A look the pair most likely to chase him home.

Timeform Comments

Theme Park
Seemingly all the better for a tongue strap when capitalising on much-reduced mark at Doncaster last month, quickening to lead final 100 yds. Bumped into a well-treated stable-switcher when second of 5 over C&D (good) 4 days ago and can remain competitive in this busy spell.
Straight A
On a lengthy losing run and seems to have stalled again since his back-to-back near misses at Doncaster and Redcar in May. Others more appealing for win purposes.
Symphony Of Joy (IRE)
Belatedly matched debut form when third of 13 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) just under a fortnight ago, albeit with the aid of a very soft lead. Circumstances unlikely to be so favourable here so looks opposable on balance.
G'emmethegreenlite (IRE)
Showed ability when hitting the frame in novice company for Adrian Keatley last season but ran poorly with a hood added on first outing for 9 months for new connections at Haydock (6f, good to firm) back in April. Watching brief advised.
Venetian Lion
Left previous efforts behind in a first-time tongue tie when second of 13 on handicap debut at Southwell (1m) last week, caught further back than ideal but covering the final 2f appreciably faster than any of his rivals. Should take all the beating if translating that form back to turf.
Pretty Spirited
Successful at Leicester and Lingfield last summer. Resumed with a good third of 12 at Doncaster (1m) in April but tailed off over C&D (good to soft) the following month. Not seen since and returns for a new yard.
