Timeform View

Martin Brassil's low-mileage IL SILENZIO captured this prize last year and teed himself up well for a repeat with an encouraging fourth in a big field at Punchestown on his return in June so edges the vote from Kilkee Bay who has taken well to fences and rates a big danger. Both One Way Traffic and Difficult Decision can both play a prominent role too.

Timeform Comments

Midnight Moonshine (IRE)
Yet to fire this summer over hurdle and fences, tried in cheekpieces when a well-held fifth of 15 in handicap chase at Wexford (25f, good to firm) 13 days ago.
Decimation (IRE)
Twenty two runs since last win in 2021 and only eleventh of 16 in handicap chase at Limerick (23f, heavy) in March. Blinkers go back on after a break.
Kilkee Bay (IRE)
Capitalised on a reduced mark (also headgear change) when readily landing 16-runner handicap chase at Roscommon (2¾m) in June. Backed it up with good second of 15 off 6 lb higher at Killarney (23f, good) 18 days ago. Holds very good claims.
One Way Traffic (IRE)
Little form over hurdles/fences until back from 6 months off with an excellent second of 11 in handicap chase at Limerick (2½m, good) in May. Goes up in trip now and can make presence felt.
Il Silenzio
Improved in refitted cheekpieces when readily taking this 12 months ago. First run since when a good fourth of 16 in handicap chase at Punchestown (25f, good) in June. Remains unexposed over fences and merits serious consideration.
Sampoet (IRE)
Point winner/fair maiden chaser at best. Unseated rider at the first (hampered start) over fences at Wexford before a below-par seventh of 12 in novice hurdle at Downpatrick (2¾m, good) 21 days ago.
Difficult Decision (IRE)
Veteran who was off over 2 years prior to reappearance and took a step back in right direction with fifth of 16 in handicap chase at Punchestown (25f, good) 59 days ago. Not out of things from a slipping mark.
John Storey (IRE)
Unreliable individual who shaped quite well when fourth on his stable debut at Punchestown in January but has been pulled up twice since.
Ballagh Star (IRE)
Dual winner over fences at Sligo. Below-form ninth of 15 in handicap hurdle at Sligo (3¼m, good) 23 days ago. More needed back in this sphere.
Stormy Master (IRE)
Returned with a creditable third at Limerick (23f) in May but only ninth of 16 to Kilkee Bay in handicap chase here (2¾m, soft) following month. Bounce back is needed.
Made U Look (IRE)
Arrives below par, cheekpieces refitted when just seventh of 15 in handicap chase at Killarney (23f, good) 18 days ago. More is required if he's to get off the mark at the eighth attempt.
Oogum Boogum (IRE)
Gained a deserved breakthrough win in 3m handicap hurdle at Punchestown in May. Good third back over fences at Killarney (23f) in July but possibly found run coming too soon when eighth of 15 in handicap chase at Wexford (25f, good to firm) 13 days ago. Not discounted in a headgear change.
Kilashee (IRE)
Scored over hurdles at Galway last summer but out of sorts since under both codes, pulled up on both starts this season. This course winner has lots to prove.
Written In My Soul (IRE)
Maiden hurdler/chaser who has made no impact in 3 hurdling runs this season, blinkered when last of 6 in novice at Downpatrick (2¾m, good) 21 days ago. Back over fences in first-time tongue tie and plenty to prove.
Captain Kate (IRE)
Without a win over hurdles and has failed to build on an encouraging chasing debut C&D sixth at in 3 subsequent starts in that sphere. Headgear change.
Deal Again (IRE)
Maiden hurdler. Tailed off when refused 3 out on chasing debut at Sligo in October 2024 and pulled up in handicap chase at Fairyhouse (25f) only run since. Returns from 21 months off here.
Love Like This (IRE)
Sole success came over hurdles at Kilbeggan in June. Not disgraced back chasing when third at Killarney (23f) in July but only tenth of 14 in handicap chase at former course (2½m, good) 11 days ago, going in snatches. Back up in trip. RESERVE
True Harmony (IRE)
Point winner. Maiden hurdler who wasn't discredited when sixth of 13 in handicap hurdle at Wexford (3m, good) 12 days ago. Much respected on his chase debut. RESERVE
Thewaybackhome (IRE)
In good form since sent handicapping over hurdles, cheekpieces on for 1st time when second of 15 at Kilbeggan (25f, good) 25 days ago. One to consider starting out over fences with few miles on the clock. RESERVE
