CAPTAIN CESS is an improved model this season so he's taken to defy a 4 lb rise after his ready win at Thirsk. This does look competitive, though, with Barmyblade and Enjoy The Night heading the dangers.

Timeform Comments

Captain Cess (IRE)
Went close on Chepstow reappearance (final start for Adrian Wintle) before getting off the mark at the second attempt for this yard at Thirsk 19 days ago in ready fashion. That form has already been boosted and big shout off 4 lb higher.
Miss Rainbow (IRE)
Won over 5f at Thirsk in June and a couple of decent placed efforts following month. Not quite in the same form turned out quickly back at Thirsk 11 days ago.
Barmyblade (IRE)
Going through a good spell at the moment, winning 2 of his last 3 starts, including over C&D 2 weeks ago. This sharp 6f suits him well and can make another bold bid.
Lucius Aurelius
Returned to his best when finally getting off the mark here (5f) in April, but has run poorly on 3 of his next 4 starts.
Howzak
Responded well to a tongue strap when narrow winner at Newcastle off this mark in February but shaped as if amiss twice before always behind over C&D 2 weeks ago (blindfold removed late).
Call Glory (IRE)
Largely consistent since winning twice at Southwell in January, going close at Salisbury 2 weeks ago. Should go well again.
Enjoy The Night (IRE)
Hinted at ability in handful of starts for John & Sean Quinn and shaped much better on second start for this yard when third at Beverley 3 weeks ago despite refusing to settle upped in trip. Remains with potential back sprinting.
Battenburg Belle (IRE)
Finally gained compensation for a string of runner-up efforts when off the mark over C&D in June. Much better effort since when good third at Pontefract 9 days ago and she should be on the premises again.
