Preference is for D DAY MAJOR WINTER as he starts off for a yard which has had several winning stable debutants of late. From his reduced mark he gets the vote ahead of Gert Lush, who has placed twice this season having also dropped in the weights, while Monks Mead should benefit from the return to further.

Amber Honey
Successful twice at around 1m on the all-weather last year and close third at Wolverhampton in February. However, has finished down the field both starts for current yard, reportedly losing her action when tailed off at Brighton (1½m) 6 weeks ago.
Gert Lush (IRE)
Lengthy absence prior to this season and stepped forward from her return when runner-up at Leicester in May. Soon bounced back from a lesser effort when third at Ffos Las 3 weeks ago, so she could be in the mix.
Offiah's Boy
Four-time winner on the Flat last summer, but had been struggling for form under both codes until finishing second in 5-runner handicap at Bath 4 days ago. This looks more competitive, though, so the task is to build on latest effort.
Monks Mead
Ended a long losing run in minor event at this venue (1¼m, all-weather) in January. Has made the frame several times in the same grade since, fourth of 10 back on the all-weather here (1m) 22 days ago. Return to further should suit.
D Day Major Winter
Runner-up twice in handicaps in 2025, including on first outing for Ross Burdon during the summer. Well held on both starts for Nick Scholfield this season but has since joined a yard which does very well with new recruits. Has been given a chance by the handicapper.
Jubilee Time
Didn't make much impact in a trio of maidens early this year and failed to improve sent handicapping when well held at Southwell (7f) in May. Has work to do up in trip for turf debut (has had a breathing operation).
